I have never seen a winger as quiet as that. He can't have touched the ball more than 6 times.

I don't really think he can be blamed when our style of play totally bypassed him, hoof!

He never received one decent pass first half,he was even worse on the right second half. Get the ball to him earlier so he can run at the defence, hopefully he will be a lot better. On todays showing from our new signings I would rather have had Dawson out wide

I don't really think he can be blamed when our style of play totally bypassed him, hoof! I agree to a certain extent, but he offered nothing. He didn't get himself into space to receive the ball, nor did he get in behind Northampton's back four. He was a passenger. Sinclair was out of position and lacked quality but he tried his best to get involved in the game and if i'm not mistaken was man of the match.

First half he didn't,but second half he did, just cut inside like Gosling, then the other new bloke came on and he looked very raw. Thought neither looked better than Dawson on todays showing, hopefully they are better than todays efforts showed

Sinclair made a valiant effort despite being played out of position, would have kept O'Toole quiet if played in the middle I'm sure. Montano isn't somebody who is going to put in a load of effort to win the ball, he's somebody who wants to stick to the side of the pitch and run at his man - showed that in the friendlies. He's left footed and DC played him on the right in the second half! Montano was fighting a losing battle I think. As much as some of the players were poor today, DC takes a lot of the blame in my eyes! He'll learn though, just as some players need a bit more time to adapt to League football.

I just cannot see Sinclair on the wing. Even with that starting XI. We gain a poor winger and lose a central dynamo. Rather see DL out there and TL at RB with Sinclair more central.

I thought he looked like he may have promise.
Looks like I'm the only one.
Not as good as Dawson but we don't have Dawson so stiff sh**.

We need to give credit to Northampton and their manager who made sure that when he had the ball they were quick to defend and he lost any chance to move forward.
In fact our whole midfield lost out time and time again due to their tactics and our inability to string any decent passes together.
Our midfield lost two very experienced players today in Mansell and Monkhouse.

Plus their CF won virtually every ball punted forward, surely today was the game to give Bliss a 30 min run out as perhaps him winning a few headers might have brought Montano into the game? Whilst Montano struggled his replacement was far worse, surely Gosling must be wondering why he's dropped so far out of favour, as in the FGR games he was Dawson's equal.
