Mildenhall 5 just seems so sluggish at times Leadbitter 7 great pace going forward and put in some good crosses Clarke 6 defended well a couple of misplaced headers Lockyer 8 very good in his best position Parkes 6 defended well and passed better Brown 5 not match fit yet,but getting there O Clarke 6 put himself about well Sinclair 7 worked tirelessly, must have covered every bit of grass Gosling 6 good first half, faded a bit second half Harrison 6 got the goal and caused them some problems Easter 5 better with the ball on the deck
Subs Taylor 7 linked our forward play, and made some very good runs Montano 4 not really involved much after he hurt his ankle
DC 7 a lot better performance and tactics from a well balanced team

Mildenhall - 6 - made a few good saves but feel he should've saved the second goal.
Leadbitter - 5.5 - looked very good at the start of the second half but seemed at fault for first goal. J. Clarke - 7 - solid in defence Lockyer - 7.5 - good defensively and had decent distribution Parkes - 6 - seemed to be the main culprit of hoof ball tactics but put in some decent tackles Brown - 7 - played well, no real mistakes
Sinclair - 6 - energetic as always but needs to get them long range shots under the terrace roof at least! O. Clarke - 6.5 - a few long shots that came close and battled well in midfield Gosling - 5.5 - gifted the ball away a few times but was good with his crossing and free kicks
Harrison - 7 - scored our goal and seemed more involved with Taylor on Easter - 6 -wish his fitness could last the match! Good feet and hold up play when he was on
Subs: Taylor - 6.5 - one of our best players and had an immediate impact Montana - 5 - seemed quiet, hardly noticed him and I preferred Goslings corners Broom - 5 - not on too long but seemed like a decent player
Crowd - 7.5 - made a lot of noise for only around 4,500 gasheads Ref - 6 - feel a few more fouls should have gone our way but didn't think anything of the half-hearted penalty appeals Birmingham (+ their star player)- 6.5 - their defence was well organised in the first half, started shaky in the second and Taylor was carving them open when he came on. The midfield controlled the tempo well when they had spells of possession. Their strikers could have been more clinical

Thought James Clarke has fitted in to team very well two good games from him so far and very quick for defender for one of the best on the field tonight

Mildenhall 5 poor for both goals. I really think we could do with a new keeper
Leadbitter 7 good in as a wing back and played well when we went to 4 at the back J. Clarke 7.5 great signing and deserved his rest towards the end. great ball for Sinclair in 1st half after a great run forward from the back Lockyer 8 played extremely maturely in his natural position Parkes 7 good without being spectacular Brown 7 couple of good runs forward in second half
Sinclair 7.5 busy in the middle and fouled over and over in the first half - if only his shooting was better and he made better choices when in the box O. Clarke 6.5 good effort in second half but over shadowed by the Beard Gosling 6 he has played better when in the middle in pre season and tonight but we have better when everyone fit
Harrison 6.5 took his goal well but not up to speed yet Easter 6 hopefully got more to come from Easter - much more
Subs: Taylor 8 very lively and improved us when he came on Montana 5 not much of an impact Broom 6.5 I like Broom and think he will be awesome in a year or 2
Crowd 7 as a good turnout for a COC game, 4 for noise and support Ref 3 very whistle happy in first half Birmingham (+ their star player) 6 no clue who their star player is?

Mildenhall 5 Looked comfortable other than the goals which he really should have done better with.
Leadbitter 7 Very good down the right wing, can defend and get forward very well. Caused their left-back all sorts of problems. J. Clarke 7 Solid. Great signing. Lockyer 8 Much better playing in defence where he belongs! Parkes 7 Solid. Brown 6.5 A few dodgy passes but huge improvement on Saturday.
Sinclair 7.5 Very good in the middle- his actual position! Needs to improve his shooting though! O. Clarke 6 Good but nothing special. Gosling 6 Decent.
Harrison 7 Good goal and looked sharp. Easter 6 Decent. Must not be 100% match fit yet.
Subs: Taylor 7.5 Very good up to Saturday and improved us as soon as he came on. Montano 5 Meh. Broom 6.5 Exciting prospect.
Crowd 8. Good turnout. Bigger crowd than the likes of Blackburn,Milwall,Notts Forest,MK Dons and Plymouth. Ref 3 sh!t Birmingham (+ their star player) 6 They rode their luck in the second half. Star player? Dunno.

Mildenhall - 3. Need a new keeper. So sluggish and thought both goals were stoppable. Distribution poor but was allowed to go short by Birmingham which helped a bit.
Leadbitter - 7. Would've been 8 and potentially MoM but mistake for their first. J. Clarke - 7. Looks very good. Lockyer - 8 Man of the match. Won countless headers and looked very comfortable there. Keep him there. Parkes - 6. Decent Brown - 6. Good link up going forward. Think he's missing Monkhouse. Defensively not up to scratch tonight.
Sinclair - 7. Didn't stop running faded second half O. Clarke - 6.5. One of his better performances second half but a few hollywood misplaced passes. Good to see him getting his head up and trying to play it though. Gosling - 6. Good first half, poor second.
Harrison - 7.5. Thought he was excellent tonight especially with Taylor. Easter - 5. Still lacking fitness I feel. Will come good though i'm sure.
Subs: Taylor - 7. Excellent when he came on. Should start with Harrison Montana - 4. Jury very much out still Broom - 5. Looked lively but not on long enough
Crowd - 9. Fantastic. You can see how much of an atmosphere can be created when we are on the front foot. Ref - 3 Poor Birmingham (+ their star player) - 5. Ok nothing special

Mildenhall 5. Thought he may have done better with one of the goals. Leadbitter 8 Superb performance in spite of a costly mistake. Clarke 7.5 Rapidly becoming Mr Consistancy. Lockyer 8.0 Great performance in his only position as far as I am concerned. Marshalled Clarke and Parkes brilliantly. Parkes 7.5 More like it after a dodgy game Saturday. Brown 7.5 As Parkes. Sinclair 7.5 Another excelling in his proper position. Clarke O. 6.5 Steady battling performance Gosling 6.5 As Ollie Clarke Easter 7.0 Good skill and link up play. Harrison 8.0 Great performance, loads of energy for the ninety minutes, great link up play and control plus a goal. As far as I am concerned Ellis's best all round performance for us since he came into the side.
Taylor 7 very sharp tonight and 1000% better than Saturday. Montana 4 Stood on the ball a couple of times and managed to get injured the second time he did it Broom 5 very lively, first time I have seen him and appears to have great pace. A bit of a Harding look alike but definately a better footballer. Whatever happened to Harding, where is he now?
Ref 6 Birmingham 6. Lucky to win and at times looked like the 2nd Division side. Clinical finishing the difference as the Reading game.

No comments on players from me this time as it's late and I'm knackered. Bideford Gas has most of them summed up pretty well.

Thought it was pretty even, with neither team deserving a win. Rovers keeper weak for both Blues goals. Good support from the Gas fans behind the goal.
Cheers, enjoyed my visit.

My own opinions from the game, I'll wait till tomorrow to work out the averages.
Mildenhall 5 While not 100% to blame for either goal, he didn't feel me with confidence.
Leadbitter 8.5 A real attacking option who really benefits from the 3-5-2 formation. Had the beating of his man, put a couple of crosses in and showed the increasing confidence to come inside on his left. Slight mix-up between him J. Clarke and Mildy for the first goal. J. Clarke 7 Good solid performance. Lockyer 7 Such an improvement in his performances when he can see the game in front of him and not be constantly turning as he is in midfield. Parkes 6.5 Hoofed it less than on Saturday and the back 5 gives him more passing options. Brown 6 Not as dynamic going forward as Leadbitter, but defensively solid.
Sinclair 7 This game suited his style of play O. Clarke 7 One of the better games I've seen him play. Picked the ball up and played it smartly and wasn't outmuscled as he has been before. Wasted a couple of shots late on. Gosling 6.5 Always nimble and on his feet, he slightly lacked the positional skills of a central midfielder but a good game nonetheless.
Harrison 7.5 Linked up well and scored with a good finish. Easter 6 Decent link-up play but didn't seem to trouble the Birmingham defenders as much as Harrison or Taylor.
Subs: Taylor 6.5 Montana 6 Good start, but got a knock and drifted out of the game Broom 5
Crowd 7 Ref 4 Got worse as the game went on, as if he was refusing to let the crowd sway him Birmingham 5 Thought Robinson was probably their best player although not many stood out

Results are in, and Tom Lockyer is your Man of the Match for the Birmingham game.
Lockyer only scored a higher rating once last season, with 7.90 in the play-off final. Likewise Ollie Clarke only bettered 6.5 once last season when he scored 6.9 at home to Halifax.
The average rating for the starting XI was 6.67. To put this into perspective from last season, this performance is most close to the home win against Nuneaton which was a 6.63.
Mildenhall 4.9
Leadbitter 7.3 J. Clarke 7.1 Lockyer 7.89 MotM Parkes 6.6 Brown 6.5
Sinclair 7.2 O. Clarke 6.5 Gosling 6.1
Harrison 7.2 Easter 6.1
Subs: Taylor 7.1 Montana 4.6 Broom 5.8 (this won't count in any season average calculations as he played less than 20 minutes)
Crowd 7.6 Ref 4.6 Birmingham 5.8

Top work again Unigas. I love this thread but can't get to grips with typing on a IPhone so it's rare I contribute.
My observation is that it's an unusually high margin between Tom (7.9) and second place (7.3). I think that was a fair reflection as it was the best game I have seen him play.
Am I right?

Interesting observation and I thought you might have a point. But, I looked it up and the average (median and mean) difference between 1st and 2nd is 0.5. The biggest gap was at Aldershot away when the gap between Trotman (7.3) and Brown was 1.6. While the lowest was Grimsby away when Parkes, Macca and Mansell all scored 7.8. Any ratings you can give are appreciated, even if its just a list if numbers for the starting XI.
