I keep being offered a free upgrade to this. Anybody using it? Any problems? General impressions?

I've used Windows7 - 8 - 8.1 & 10, and IMO Windows7 is the best by far.

The upgrade was completed without any problems. I just set it running, and went to bed.
I've gone from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I didn't bother with Windows 8 as I thought it didn't look very good. I run a good old school Desktop PC. Windows 8 was for laptop's and touch-screen nonsense.
When I get home tonight I'll check all my software and hardware to ensure it's all working ok. As always after upgrading the first thing I'll do is complete a backup.

I have windows 8 (laptop) don't like it much so I am rather suspicious of all the new ones they bring out. To be honest the version I liked best was XP. I use it for internet research, use office software, dont play games on it so the business type ones suit me better.

wendy loves win10, i use win 8 but all my smaller pc's have win xp on as it's so stable.
i wont upgrade to win 10 as you cannot switch auto upgrades off, its also incompatable with some software licences i use(not a biggie that one), Too easy for gchq and american agencies to get into,

Inee. How do you turn auto upgrades off on Windows 8. They are a pain
Forget that I've found it. In view of that I think I will stick to 8

First impression is not too bad. However, getting your bookmarks imported into Edge (the new browser) is pretty easy, except they are imported in the wrong order ! Oh, it's easy from Chrome, but Firefox doesn't even get a mention !

I haven't used Chrome with 10, but by all accounts it can be a bit flaky....and Chrome is a heavy user of memory.

I haven't used Chrome with 10, but by all accounts it can be a bit flaky....and Chrome is a heavy user of memory. True, when you open the task manager even if you only have one Chrome tab open you can often see it appear 4-5 times in the memory usage list. This (I believe) is because any add-ons you have run separately to the browser, so if you have an ad-blocker, a pop-up blocker, or even email/facebook/twitter extensions, they all eat up your memory, probably more than if you were running them as separate programs. I assume thats the same in Windows 10 which I'm reluctant to upgrade to until we get to the first service pack...
