Great memories of Barrie, sometimes we would start the season without him and Harold as they were still playing cricket! Couldn't see DC putting up with that!
R.I.P. Barrie thanks for the memories. Condolences to his family and friends.

So that's the lyric! R.I.P Barrie. Another ghost of Eastville. It is, reminds me of my mum every time I'm coming out of the Mem. It was her era, she was there and Barrie Meyer was one of her team of heroes

RIP Barrie. A regular in the side when I started supporting the gas and another player who did really well in the Summer game due to his allround talent. What better way to spend a Summer by playing cricket when your football income ceased, rather than spend it on a building site like many of the other players. How times have changed.

After retiring from playing cricket Barrie became an umpire rising to test match level.

I remember he wet through spell of putting the ball over the bar, and for long time after, when a ball went over the shout went up "Barry Meyer!!"
