JTS is FFSclub on twitter, it seems to me there are no other sources or even other posters ITK apart from JTS & Gasincider, who've clearly had the news deliberately leaked to them. Whilst posters are getting excited about Plan C for all we know it could be a complete hoax until the investors are identified. Exactly how I feel. Nothing has been catagorically stated and posters are getting their hopes up and carried away with it all. I just worry that this is going to make us all look silly if it is bull. I just do not feel comfortable about this stuff.

Nobody will look silly. We already look daft because we are a ragbag bunch of chancers. Let it unfold and see what happens. JTS won't purposely spout off without reason. Something is going on....

"Bunch of chances" I do fear that's the new consortium may well be, using the FFS as their initial mouthpiece to commence a takeover costing £30m+ seems a bit odd to me.

Topper and others who are extremely dubious about this "leak". I do not know y'all personally, as far as I know, but I have known the OP personally for around 45 years and I know he does have access to various insider information and other tidbits from numerous sources, as does his mate Severncider (who I also know) and if either of them posts with info such as Gasincider has in this thread, then I have no reason to doubt what they say. I do not know JTS personally but have come to realise that he is very honourable and does not post things for effect. On the basis of Gasincider and JTS having the same info but from different sources, then I am even more inclined to believe that something is going on as they state. I would opine that they were chosen to have this information revealed to them as they are known to have the ability to make things as public as is reasonably suitable to a much wider range of peeps than most supporters are and I believe there to be astute reasoning behind this.

So Brian really is the messiah or is just being a very naughty boy? Oh he is most definitely a very naughty (old) boy. In this instance he is definitely not the Messiah............. but maybe one of the prophets? Remember that the word of the original Messiah was doubted but look at how big it became.

This has been going on in the background for some time, but I and a few others have not wanted to "push this info" into the public domain for obvious reasons. However, with the appointment of CS, who I believe has only been brought in to bolster NH in any "hand votes" at Board meetings, yes on a card vote he will always win BUT GD and NH have always said the club is run on a democratic vote NOT on the basis of shareholding.
With the appointment of CS, it would appear that NH has NO intention of selling the club, even if an amazing offer is placed before him. I understand why this info has now been released as NH may be throwing away a great opportunity for BRFC just to enable him to stay on as chairman.
As others have said:-
1 -the "investors" now need to show their hand with full details 2 - NH needs to address this information 3 - an EGM needs to be called to enable the shareholders to clarify the "offer" and be able to pass on their views.
It's now 18.15 here so I'll keep an eye on this debate.
On another matter, lets hope for three points today. There are other important things going on , least some may have forgotten.

Exciting stuff. I've been off watching 30 blokes chase an egg at Twickenham and I come back to this! Thank you JTS for revealing what you know. Seeing as the club tell us sod all it's nice to have someone to keep us in the loop.

Wotcher Dave. I reckon you are in PTZ: I would guess you are in CA? I hope you are having a great time. At least this episode will provide some interesting reading during your travels. I would suggest that such tactics by NH to try to keep his position would be far from appreciated by the majority of Rovers supporters and he would lose even more credence than he already has. Inviting a mate from the dark side to shore up his own position absolutely stinks! As does his mate's reason to Plymouth, that he could not devote any time to his role with them as he needs to care for his wife, yet the next day he is appointed by Rovers. I wonder what his incentive for that was? I do not wish ill on anyone and hope CS's wife is soon well but it does make me wonder how unwell she really is. If she is not as poorly as his excuse reason suggests, then he should be ashamed of himself for using her health as a means to his ends. If NH does address this info, I for one would be inclined not to take his statement at face value, no matter what spin is put on it.

I am in Everett, North Seattle, awaiting a tour of the Boeing factory tomorrow, AFTER listening to the match commentary on Gas Player.
I have backed NH in most things but now feel that his time is in the "past" and we need someone else running the football club with funds that NH can only dream about. He will no doubt have a "reason" for rejecting any offer put to him and there have been several "discussions" in the last 12/18 months but he always insisted that "no offer" has been received.
Well it appears that this is no longer the case and I for one await with avid interest to any comments he wishes to make.

I know Seattle, having spent time in Renton. Is it raining? It seems to have a very British type climate, i.e. more rain than sun, but the hot days are still more frequent and hotter than those here. Now all becomes clear: You are visiting my mate Bill and he is the one who is providing the wherewithal for the offer I am the same in respect of NH. Unfortunately, it now seems to me that his ego is preventing him from looking after Rovers best interests The worst case picture for this is that NH refuses to let go and Rovers slip into oblivion. The irony being that the DoG is left laughing as Bristol Sport do become the only professional sporting entity in Bristol because his puppy aids NH in Rovers downfall at NH's own request.

This is their chance to actually prove their journalistic skills and not just quote what they've seen on here. I suggest knocking on Higgs door, he probably has very little knowledge of the storm that's been brewing overnight

Maybe he was at the UWE trying to convince the new students to watch the Gas

Well doc if this is genuine ( and I want to believe it is) then either these people will reveal themselves or we will have a denial on the OS. In the meantime I don't enjoy wild speculation and this thread is full of it so I'll watch and wait.

Lets hope for at least a point today as another defeat and a tough fixture list ahead will turn the fans on Darryl, who needs our support, and not on NH, who needs to remember he is only temporary guardian of our club (and hopefully not for much longer). Local journos have got to earn their crust and properly investigate and challenge NH, for there is no smoke without fire with this story.

It might seem odd if you don't have vision and enterprise. A facility boasting what the UWE has and housing a small football club with growth potential doesn't sound risky to me. Also the structure would maintain some value since we are hardly spoilt for stadiums in the SW and BRISTOL sports village can't do everything in BS3! We don't know any facts other than credible rumours so I shouldn't bother worrying about the financial aspects. 30million is a lot to me and you but small numbers to many people. The size of any consortium also changes the financial punch, it could be 20 strong?

Dear lurking evil post reporter/cutandpaster. Here's your story, start digging. Thank you. That's probably too much work for them. They need help: Rovers Don't Deny NothingNick Higgs, chairman of Bristol Rovers didn't deny anything about rumours of a takeover bid at the Memorial Stadium because we couldn't be bothered to ask him. When given the choice between phoning someone up and having a chat, or browsing a bit more porn on the internet, our brave journalists fearlessly chose the latter. The storm broke when someone on the Gaschat forum said something about something else happening because of someone doing something. This is vital to the future of the club and so we decided not to bother looking into it, as we're busy writing a story about a pensioner getting angry because they nearly got hit by an immigrant cyclist emptying a recycling bin while mugging a Shaun the Sheep in a restricted parking zone, because those are our only frames of reference. 'We spend our time reading the fan forums coz it's easier than doing actual journalism, but if someone wants to write a press release for us, we are able to cut-and-paste it, word-for-word into our sad organ,' said an anonymous contact on the Bristol Post.
