unfortunately that opinion is the minority one, most rovers fans are quite happy with being the downtrodden second class citizens in this city. As a collective fanbase we demand nothing more than to exist, it's why we're in the position we are. That is utter codswollop. Quite a few ignorant people come on these forums and, so called, speak for the masses. And to say that is the reason we are in this position is even more bonkers! The reason we are in this shambolic state as a football club is down to the board of Bristol Rovers not the 6,000 faithful. I assume you count yourself in that number as, from previous conversations with people who come out with your kind of statement, they haven't been to the Rovers for a while. And in some cases years. Yeah i count myself, can't see why anyone who doesn't go would even comment on this forum. We're not playing a who has been to how many games competition here, if we are i've been to 7 home games and 2 away, does that qualify me to have an opinion? We are a loyal but lethargic fanbase, we don't push for change, we are accepting of the status quo, no matter how bad it is. Despite all the predictions of tough questioning i bet higgs still gets an easy ride on thursday.

I'm not playing any competition and not bothered how many games you have been to, makes no odds to me but plenty do come on here and the other forum who don't go to games. They usually start to run The club down when we lose and stay silent when things are going well.

Dc is doing an exceptional job under difficult circumstances off the field. I just hope that one day we get the club we all deserve.

That seems a bit harsh on our fantastic fan base, I bet the likes of Crawley's BoD would love to have our fans?
As far as the other poster suggesting DC is doing an exceptional job under difficult circumstances off the field, is the Sainsbury's issues etc really effecting him, whilst his budget may not be brillant compared to previous managers I bet it's miles better than the likes of Accrington's and his players don't have to worry about getting paid each month like Northampton's?

Our budget is on a par with Accringtons. They are so much better than us at marketing it is frightening. As for being paid, let's see what happens (assuming he is still in charge at the time) when we lose the court case.
He needs to go now before we are in that position.

Not complaining about the standard of football? a new ground? One thing we don't have is millions of pounds, so we know we cannot change anything. Unless you have the cash of course

The biggest icons in world history were mainly skint and came from humble backgrounds. They had something more than money though, strength and determination to make change for the better of all. It's a shame that none of them have been Gasheads though.

Perhaps they have but when NH has been asked "deal or no deal" he's gone for the latter?

Unfortunately for every one of them there's thousands that have failed. Badly.

I knew our budget was low, but had no idea it was that low, hats off to dc me thinks. We are so shambolic it is frightening, there can only be a handful of clubs in the football league as badly run as we are. I think that higgs genuinely believes he will win the appeal and will then be the hero, even if he doesn't no need to worry as there will be no pressure put on him by the fans, after all no-one else wants to run the club, right?

I assume you are referring to Nick Higgs, as there is no real evidence (bar the word of mouth rumours) that a bid is on the table. Who do you see has money to replace him?

I feel inadequate. I've never been frightened by Accrington Stanley's marketing. What a bad Gashead I am.

I don't get this suggestion Accrington's budget is similar to ours, is there any proof that's the case given we had the likes of Mildenhall and Mansell on the bench and Blisset sat in the stands on Saturday, apart from lacking a decent CF there's no obvious signs DC can't afford to put a reasonable Div 2 squad together. I doubt Easter & Lines are on poor money for Div 2 wages?

The Chairman speaks........ "I am sure you are all aware there has once again been lots of unfounded rumours of new investments and buy-outs of the club. The truth is that over the last 2 years we have been approached by around 12 potential investors in the club. Recent history has shown how boards of directors who sell to the first bidder who waves a chunky cheque in their faces have left their clubs in the wrong hands. We wouldn’t consider selling to someone who within weeks of taking over changes the club’s kit to red and white and renames us Bristol Pirates. With our fan base and planning permission for a 22,000 seat stadium on the outskirts of the city, the club is potentially an attractive proposition for investors. When word gets around that you are looking for investment, you are bound to have people contacting you. But investors who have money to buy the club but can only fund the Club to keep it running for three or four years simply isn’t going to work for the long-term future of the Club. I get a lot of stick for repeatedly saying I will only sell if the right investor comes along, who can demonstrate the ability and ambition to take our club forward. I am a supporter of the club, and myself and the board will do what we believe to be in the Club’s best interest. Fans stop me all the time and ask me if there is any news on new signings or on new investment. I feel like I disappoint them when I tell them there is nothing to report at the moment, but rest assured if and when we have news on either front we will inform you. It is also worth bearing in mind quite frequently when new investors begin talks with clubs both sides sign a confidentiality agreement forbidding either party from publicly discussing the talks. As I have said before we have had many talks with potential investors which have never got past first base. We don’t want to raise supporters’ expectations before any deal is done, and sometimes when news leaks out it results in the buyers being approached by countless other clubs who are also looking for a cash injection. So for consortium, read consortia For investor, read investors.
We'll be none the wiser until a deal is done it seems.
