I hope we don't look upon NH in a couple of years like Northampton fans look upon David Cardoza.
Some eerie similarities starting to appear.

The Chairman speaks........ "I am sure you are all aware there has once again been lots of unfounded rumours of new investments and buy-outs of the club. The truth is that over the last 2 years we have been approached by around 12 potential investors in the club. Recent history has shown how boards of directors who sell to the first bidder who waves a chunky cheque in their faces have left their clubs in the wrong hands. We wouldn’t consider selling to someone who within weeks of taking over changes the club’s kit to red and white and renames us Bristol Pirates. With our fan base and planning permission for a 22,000 seat stadium on the outskirts of the city, the club is potentially an attractive proposition for investors. When word gets around that you are looking for investment, you are bound to have people contacting you. But investors who have money to buy the club but can only fund the Club to keep it running for three or four years simply isn’t going to work for the long-term future of the Club. I get a lot of stick for repeatedly saying I will only sell if the right investor comes along, who can demonstrate the ability and ambition to take our club forward. I am a supporter of the club, and myself and the board will do what we believe to be in the Club’s best interest. Fans stop me all the time and ask me if there is any news on new signings or on new investment. I feel like I disappoint them when I tell them there is nothing to report at the moment, but rest assured if and when we have news on either front we will inform you. It is also worth bearing in mind quite frequently when new investors begin talks with clubs both sides sign a confidentiality agreement forbidding either party from publicly discussing the talks. As I have said before we have had many talks with potential investors which have never got past first base. We don’t want to raise supporters’ expectations before any deal is done, and sometimes when news leaks out it results in the buyers being approached by countless other clubs who are also looking for a cash injection. Read more at www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/a-message-from-the-chairman-2815193.aspx#rhdD9edEohShXQJQ.99And que the bashers. Those ITK and the Barrack Room Lawyers are poring over the text as we speak ! They are all identifying just what Nick didn't say. They are reading between the lines. Expect to see a flood of posts where posters tell us just what Nick really meant to say.

That reads to me like he's confirming he's in discussions but is unable to state it clearly.

That reads to me like he's confirming he's in discussions but is unable to state it clearly. Confirms to be that every aporoach is bull and that no-one has the money or the good of the club at heart.

That reads to me like he's confirming he's in discussions but is unable to state it clearly. Once again it doesn't really confirm things one way or the other, the doubters will still doubt, those ITK will still claim to be ITK? I just feel this is another question ticked off before Thursday's Q&A session? One interesting point given that our debts edge towards £10m those this also now apply to our present BoD "investors who have money to buy the club but can only fund the Club to keep it running for three or four years simply isn’t going to work for the long-term future of the Club"

Ok, unless someone, some group, worth on their own close to £1bn with a heart felt affiliation to BRFC that won't tear us apart for the sake their whims, we're not selling. That's it. Anyone we, you, know of close to being that?

I reckon Nick has a bet going with someone else on the board as to how long this thread will go on for. Nick is obviously aiming for the 300 page mark to win his bet.

It looks like as fans we won't know anything until whatever NH's plan for the future of the club is signed and sealed. Let's just hope it's a Darrell Clarke decision rather than a Mark McGhee one.

Our budget is on a par with Accringtons. They are so much better than us at marketing it is frightening. As for being paid, let's see what happens (assuming he is still in charge at the time) when we lose the court case. He needs to go now before we are in that position. I knew our budget was low, but had no idea it was that low, hats off to dc me thinks. We are so shambolic it is frightening, there can only be a handful of clubs in the football league as badly run as we are. I think that higgs genuinely believes he will win the appeal and will then be the hero, even if he doesn't no need to worry as there will be no pressure put on him by the fans, after all no-one else wants to run the club, right? No one on here or the terraces know the size of our budget or even that of Accrington,it is all speculation based on how you feel about the board, those with incider believe it is very low others believe it is competitive, you pay your money and take your chance but at the end of the day it is all speculation

That statement has a bigger twist at the end than any Hollywood blockbuster.

That statement has a bigger twist at the end than any Hollywood blockbuster. We discussed this on another thread, and I don't think the ending to Debbie Does Dallas had a twist at the end either. The ending was pretty predictable, and that was a real Hollywood blockbuster.

I actually think it's a pretty reasonable statement.

I actually think it's a pretty reasonable statement. It appears to back up what little I know as the interested party that I knew about pulled their interest several weeks ago but does it quash JTS's and Gasinciders consortium rumours?
