Just noticed this now on the main site. These late fixture changes are getting seriously annoying now. I live in Stockholm so have to plan which games I can go to and book the flights in advance. Did they only just find out now that the Rugby World Cup Final is happening on this weekend? I normally get back for 7 or 8 games a season but these late Friday night changes are really messing it up.
I'm fine with Friday night games in theory but surely it's not unreasonable to expect a minimum of say, 6 weeks or 2 months notice?

To be fair we rearranged the home fixture against them back in June so I suspect this is more down to Cambridge.

Hope it didn't come across as critical of Bristol Rovers as it wasn't intended to be. It's the 3rd time this has happened to me now. I reckon in future I'll just have to take the hit and book the flights closer to the time. I land at 19:25 so if I grab a taxi I should just about make the 2nd half so it's not all bad really.

I would email Cambridge (and copy in their local trading standards) asking why the late change and will they reimburse people with pre-booked travel arrangements. If they're moving it for financial reasons, seems only right they can compensate those who have already paid to get there on the wrong day....and before anyone asks, I would expect the same of Rovers too

Why are we worrying abut the rugby final anyway as England reaching it looks remote and by Sunday we'll know for certain if they won't? I doubt travel etc is a problem as fans travelling to twickers are hardly going to effect fans travelling to Cambridge? Anyway 4pm Saturday is a stupip time/day for a big final!

is it on sky or has it been changed anyway? As the OP said, it has been changed due to clashing with the Rugby World Cup Final - something which could have been decided many months ago.

Sorry to those who will be inconvenienced but this is fantastic news.
I would have been driving back from Cambridge with a complete media ban so I wouldn't find out any score before I got to see the recording.
I was even going to put everyone's phones in the boot

So this gets moves despite being a 60 miles from London yet today there's NFL at a sold out Wembley and rugby at a likely sold out Olympic Stadium?

I still can't understand why something like a Australia v New Zealand etc rugby match affects a Div 2 football match. If Cambridge Directors/fans are that interested perhaps they are following the wrong sport?

Having said that though, we've changed a few fixtures to Friday night to try and get more fabs through the door. Southend fans probably weren't to impressed with that kind of journey on a Friday.

Southend have in the past though played a lot of home games on a Friday.
