Good idea to give some of the squad a run-out tomorrow. Keeps everyone feeling involved.
Result unimportant compared to League points.

Good idea or enforced changes due to 3 players being on international duty? Let's hope the players who do step up to first team action put in a decent shift tomorrow night. My concern now is that Wycombe will play a full first team given they have no fixture on Saturday whereas they may well have intended resting a few 1st teamers.

Good chance for some unfancied players to work their way into the team.

It's a difficult one as I was watered right off after the Bath game but in hindsight going out of that cup early was definitely a good thing. Still couldn't go and not care if we lose.

It’s a hard one really.
Last year I was just embarrassed that we were competing in such a competition, then again it was even worse losing to Bath. However, I am sure everybody feels that getting knocked out helped us massively in the league as we saw how all these games piled up towards the end.
We have to be realistic with the JPT with the fact that it will be very difficult to make the final with good teams in the league above. That said, we have done it before and with no game this weekend apart from the forced changes we may as well play the best eleven available. If we still had a league game on Saturday then it would have been better to rest a couple more. You never know when these fringe players might be called into action later in the season so they need some sort of competitive action.

I'd rather let the same team out and keep momentum really but we seen last season that DC doesn't seem too keen on cup football.

I think we will see something like:
Nicholls
Leadbitter - Clarke - Parkes - Brown
Montano - Lines - Clarke - Bodin
Taylor - Blissett
Subs: Mildenhall, McChrystal, Mansell, Sinclair, Easter and a couple of youngsters

Looks like a decent team, why not use the game to check out/keep fit a few fringe players ? We all love a cup run but this year is about a good league position IMO.

Darrell has been quoted as saying yesterday : “I will be putting out a strong side for the match" i think he'll see it as a chance to lay down a marker against a good team - lets rub in the postponement for WW with a win - UTG

Isn't that the same every year though? None of the teams left in our side of the draw look particularly difficult to beat at the Mem, isn't it just Swindon & Coventry left in the S West from Div 1, if money is tight then the JPT could be a money spinner?

Strongest possible team needed and i cant see Mansell (who needs game time) or Sinclair being rested.
The main reason for this is that DC knows we NEED a HOME WIN now.. Whethet it be JPT or League.
Nicholls
Leadbitter McChrystal J Clarke Brown
Bodin Mansell Sinclair Montano
Taylor Easter
Subs Clarke, mildenhall, Lines, Harrison, parkes

Jermaine Easter former Wycombe favourite. Played for them against us in the then Football league trophy 2006/7 his brother Jamal scored his only ever league club goal for us and knocked them out.

It clearly says in the article that the Wycombe manager will make changes due to concerns over fatigue.

I Don't buy this crap about resting players FFS, they are pro players, if they cannot play 2x90 min games in a week then they are not being trained correctly for fitness
Sack the Whole management team i say !

I don't think people mean necessarily to give those players a rest, it is more about giving the others a chance to prove themself. That's why I would make a few changes anyway.

For one, we'll never find out about Montano if he never gets a chance to start, so as long as he's fit, he must start tomorrow. Two, it's a perfect chance to play Lyttle in a less pressurised first team game. Three, Bodin can get a game up front. I'd definitely rest Brown as a priority as he never gets a break. Maybe a team like this: Nicholls Lyttle Parkes J Clarke Greenslade Leadbitter O Clarke Lines Montano Blissett Bodin
