We need a big, strong, bustling C F to bully and worry defences. We spent ages working the ball forwards with endless sideways passing and give the opposition time to regroup and defend. All our forwards are off the shoulder of a big man type players and although Taylor's finishing ratio is appalling, they get knocked off the ball too easily.
Clarke knows what we need, is he afraid of another Blisset type balls - up?

Parkes looks overweight and sluggish (again) Joke - perhaps Parkes out Clarke in is more creditable

Last night on the radio there was a bloke, who just like Old Gas's comment above thinks we need a big CF. We don't. As much as I liked football in the 70's and 80's times have changed and the old "Smash and Grab" days have long gone. What we need is pace and accuracy. Yesterday Sinclair slowed the pace down every time we broke out with his passes which were either sideways or backwards leaving County's defence to organise themselves. And accuracy? Well someone who within 20 yards of the goal can get away a shot ON TARGET. People have a go at Taylor but Harrison and Easter are just as bad. Makes you wonder what they do in training.

It does surprise me how often pros can't hit the target even when they have time. It is eight yards by eight feet - about the size of a barn door, in fact.
Maybe they aim for the corners. If so, they'd be better off aiming for the centre, then they'd hit the corners.

Odd comments by LP Gas given the fact that John Lewis yesterday destroyed our defence with his powerful performance upfront.

Whatever that means. We bought the last forward who played well against us at the mem, and that hasn't worked out too well.

JL played well at Wembley as well, in fact he managed to bundle in a daft goal their as well and also helped to have our defence & goalie at 6's & 7's for the first half, just a pity Blisset can't put himself about in a similar manner.

Odd comments by LP Gas given the fact that John Lewis yesterday destroyed our defence with his powerful performance upfront. The shop has scored about 2 goals this season, our strikers all have around 4 goals each so far but they've all got major faults according to the experts on here.Grimsby fans were very happy to see the back of him as he missed a shed load of easy chances,an ideal replacement for Matt Taylor by the sounds of it.

It's all about opinions of course, but every team we've played at the Mem this season has had a big CF who's given the defence a hard time and created space for a strike partner/midfielder to run into. The only one who failed to make much of an impression was Akinde, and we know all about him, don't we?

Agree. A big CF would give us more options

Commiserations on losing your Severnside Derby, hopefully we will beat your horrible neighbours tonight. All the best for the rest of the season Gasheads.
