the story went like this ellis tom and jake watched city play in the city end
ellis got hammered to death by many posters while nothing at all was aimed at jake and tom,,,
i dont think theres a problem with 3 young rovers players watching city,some obviously do but i found the thread frustrating.
the problem with my post about racism is that it implied that everyone who posted negatively against ellis must be a racist which is unfair and im sure untrue.
nobody was able to come up with a feasible explanation of why ellis got different treatment than the other 2..
what would ellis think if he read that thread?
some people got very angry with my race accusation and some would no doubt like me banned as they want others banned.
but what if im right and some are being racist?
i cant really give an unreserved apology im afraid to try and make some sort of peace but as i said I WAS WRONG TO TARNISH ALL THE ELLIS NEGATIVE POSTERS AS RACISTS ,,so i regret that
not looking for a row with anyone now about this just prefer to explain my point of view rather than hide away

I agree with you that there's no problem with Ellis going to whatever games he wants. But istm there is a feasible explanation of why Ellis gets it.
Some players get it more than others coz they have a history with the fans, and because they're more closely connected with the club, or coz they've been here longer, or coz they've already alienated some of the fans with past behaviour, or they just have a higher profile generally.
This is pretty much self-evident, istm, and if you want it confirmed, just imagine what would have happened if this had been JJ a couple of years ago. Istm pretty obvious he would have got it more than Ellis, and istm pretty clear that largely the same fans would have been giving it.
Occams razor, therefore, says it's not racism.

Myself and at-least one other posted what were in my opinion good responses as to why Ellis was the main target.(Even if we didn't agree with the slack he was getting)
I think this is best left alone, we're all Rovers fans and we're going to be here supporting the club much longer then Ellis, Gosling and whoever the third player was.

Fair play for at least half apologizing even though you still seem to think there may be some truth in your original post.
The problem with throwing racist accusations where there really was no evidence that there was any racism is that it can be very damaging.
It can cause racism and also give racists a wonderful "oh, he's playing the race card" excuse to dismiss legitimate claims.
As Huggy said, most people cited EH having some previous, poor form and generally a habit of being a bit of a plank at times as why he had been singled out. All seem pretty reasonable and nothing to do with race.

Ellis has Had a high profile a negative history as well as a positive one. Gosling has been a bit part player with a low profile. No racism at all.

It's a shame if he got his head down grew up a bit he could make the championship at least,some footballers don't realise how lucky they are and who pay there wages your opinion is your opinion but i think hes trying his best but has some technical flaws in his game which is holding him back. i think his off the ball runs are poor and hes not good with his back to goal but i think hes trying hard to improve |
