Good Morning All Its with regret that I am posting for this reason on your fans forum. Northampton Town FC are at risk of going out of business in 2 weeks time. We face a winding up petition on the 16th November for an unpaid tax bill. We also find ourselves owing a massive 10Million pound loan to our local council which was taken out for stadium redevelopment, which has mysteriously gone missing in our property developing chairmans pockets David Cardoza. I personally have followed the cobblers across land and sea of the UK, visiting the majority of the 92 football league clubs. I ask in hope that you can help us with raising awareness to our cause with help growing publicity on social media. We have a twitter page saveourcobblers and are using the hashtags #SaveOurCobblers & #SaveNTFC Finally, I ask if you can all dig deep for as little or as much as you can. We have a fund raising page which is crowdfunding.justgiving.com/ntfctrust , we've set a target of £100,000 but unfortunately whats needed is substantially more! We are currently just over £13,500. Thank you for your time reading this, and we do hope to be still in existence come Christmas!! Thanks NTFC Supporters. Some really mean and unnecesary comments on this thread. The guy is a genuine supporter just like you or I and all he wants to do is try to save his club going from down the pan. It's not about how sh** a time you had at their ground or jjot etc. It's about helping fellow football supporters save the club they love as much as we love ours. Rant over. Agree, but we have our own probs and if I had cash would rather use it to support us.Good luck to the cobblers though. Wouldn't like to see any club go under...well perhaps C*ty, Wycombe, Notts C*nty...

Some news I just picked up,sorry if it has been posted before, but apparently over £7 million of the loan was passed to a company called first land who then loaned cazorla, the chairman of the fc,over £2.6 million the company have since gone into liquidation with no assets so the fc are stuck with the debt, unless they can sue the chairman for the money loaned to him,but that is doubtfull because the liquidators will also be after him.Sounds very dodgy if not criminal activity which could force the club to fold. The pfa have also just loaned the club sufficient funds to pay the staff wages but as yet this hasn't been done.

So it looks like they are saved, after all. Is this the bloke who NH decided wasn't in the best interests of BRFC? We are pleased to confirm the purchase of the majority shareholding in Northampton Town Football Club by Northampton Town Ventures Limited. Following the signing of the Share Purchase Agreement late on Wednesday night Northampton Borough Council have agreed to seek an adjournment to their administration petition due to be heard on Friday. We also confirm HRMC has been paid in full by Northampton Town Ventures Limited and HMRC will be seeking to withdraw their liquidation petition on Monday. Following that withdrawal Northampton Town Football Club will work closely with Northampton Borough Council to complete the necessary paperwork to legally bind the signed Memorandum of Understanding and withdraw the adjourned administration petition. www.northampton-news-hp.co.uk/Northampton-Town-FC-takeover-Read-club-s/story-28248770-detail/story.html (Don't bother clicking, it's just like the sh**e Post page)

It seems Oxford's ex Chairman is picking up the club for £1 next week. I'm surprised Northampton BCare only "seeking answers" and haven't started their own proceedings to try and recover the £10m loan. I think they just gave all the land (that supposedly cost £10m) to the council.

I guess Northampton have come out of it ok. They don't have to pay back the £10m because they never had it! But I bet the police go after their old chairman who did have the money. In the end the whole incident lasted less than a month and they are now debt free and with a new board looking forward. Considering Luton were deducted 20 points (I think) and went out of the league because of it due to people's actions who were no longer part of their club they might be feeling a bit aggrieved that NTFC have come out of what may be a dodgy £10m deal scot free. The guy who has taken over was at Oxford, not far away from us. I never wish for what other people have but..... Can't help thinking! I know nothing about rumours or consortiums but do feel sometimes we are being kept in the dark ages by our board. Anyway UTG!

How Dam frustrating is it mind that all the money they unfairly spend when they can't afford it takes them into 3rd in the league, and after begging other clubs lower than them in the table to donate money, they're now safe financially and will continue on and likely take a promotion spot from those teams that tried to 'save' them. f**ks sake.

We've no idea though what's gone on in the background, I doubt the local council would just write off £10m? What would you say if you hear in the future's NH had gifted half the Mem away to just clear his loan??
