Mine was also ran. In fact both of mine were. Southwell is my least favourite AW course. It's fibresand rather than polytrack and so form elsewhere doesn't translate too well.

Just looked at the weekend's racing...
Think the hennessy has a very exposed look to it this year. A few 10 year olds are well handicapped like Bob's Worth but 10 year olds have a poor record in the race and not convinced by his beating of Simonsig over hurdles where he had a lot in his favour.
With the going currently soft and rain predicted, you want a soft ground horse and Houblon Des Obeaux stands out to me. Only just beat off in this off top weight by Many Clouds who of course went onto win the grand national. He loves soft ground and is a 1lb lower than last year. The front 3 last year finished 15l in front of the rest and I think at 14/1 is definitely the value bet.
Fighting fifth hurdle I think Top Notch is overpriced at 6/1. There are currently 6 entries. Wicklow Brave and Irving head the betting. Wicklow Brave looks short to me and still needs to prove at the top level. Irving won the race last year and beat Top Notch last week but that was Top Notch's first run of the season and he is entitled to come on for that. Also has soft ground again if the going stays the same.
Long Distance Hurdle you have last year's world hurdle winner Cole Harden and Whisper top the betting. Cole Harden much prefers better ground though and I would definitely have Whipser out of the two of them. Will look at this race in more detail on Saturday though.
