good topical post bishopston....
England have won the world under 17 championships in 2010, and 2014 but yet England have failed at under 21 level.... so it doesn't take genius to work out that some thing goes inherently wrong with English footballers between the ages of 17 and 21....
I remember a few years back that the fa wanted to bring in a rule where you'd need to field x homegrown players (5 or 6, something like that) but this was rejected because of some employment law or some international / European regulation....
these kids need to start playing at the highest level of the game asap to develop.... loaning out, setting up league 3, wont make the blindest difference. if you want the next owen, gigs, beckham or bale (ok two of them are welsh) then the kids need an early chance, but sadly the amount of foreign players in the prem is allowed to grow, keeping our talented young players far away from any chance of playing for the first team....
is it any coincidence that since the set-up of the premier league (1992) and the champions league (1992)that England have been crap???
