Quite a few of the last games Rovers have been creating many chances and a lot of these have been crosses into the box which aren't really being put away because we don't have the personnel to do this. Now I know a lot of people will disagree with me but this is where John joe o'toole really came into his own. Just think how many he would have scored this season in the right frame of mind. This is the area in my opinion that needs to be addressed. |

We never replaced Disley. He was brilliant at making late runs in to the danger area. Nobody has done that since he left. Also we need a striker than doesnt continuosly cock up simple chances.

Can you give it a break? It's a reasonable and on topic point about Disley, why not just leave it there eh? Everybody on here knows how you feel about Taylor, it doesn't need to hijack every new thread with a vague connection to scoring goals. I am categorically speaking as another poster and not a moderator at this point, but I feel that I will be forced to start taking action if this continues to excess, for the enjoyment of other posters. were very good at working the ball wide and crossing it into the box for the opponents defenders to head away!!
easter taylor and harrison simply dont pose much of a threat in the air,,so we either need to get someone who does or stop lobbing it into the box and try and work the ball into dangerous positions on the deck which isnt easy in league 2 i admit

What we actually need to improve the team is any player who is *slightly* better than our current player(s) in that position. Do we need a particular type of CF? Not really, just need one that scores more goals than the current ones. Do we need a particular type of winger? No, just one who can beat more fullbacks and put in better crosses than our current ones.
The 'type' of player we need to improve the squad is one who will fit in, play better than what we have, understand what playing for Rovers is all about and do everything they can in any given 90 minutes to get us three points.
However getting them is a whole other ball game as you need to i) convince them to come, ii) find the money to pay them and iii) find something else for at least one of the current players to do that doesn't involve paying their wages.

This is the area in my opinion that needs to be addressed. Whose position would JJ be taking? If in midfield, you have to wonder how our defence would look with just one player in front of them doing the work. If instead of a striker, then you have to wonder how we'd get on with just one non-target type attacker up there on his own with no one up there to help him. |

I actually think Taylor is our best striker when you compare him to Easter who basically plays like Sinclair on the ball but with none of the fire without it, Blisset who's pretty useless at everything and Harrison who just doesn't seem that bothered most of the time. I find it unbelievable that our best forward is the one who gets the most abuse yet we all have a laugh about Bliss , talk about Harrison's potential and talk about Easters obvious quality when the 3 of them put together haven't done as much as Taylor has this season or last. |

I agree it's not working at the moment, but I could run up and down the right touchline and curl in 5-10 crosses per game. Probably I'd find nobody as I work in retail and am a bit overweight. A winger's job isn't to put in a cross, it's to put in a cross that the CF can get to. Completely different thing. |
