Nicholls 3 Beaten far too easily again.
J. Clarke 4 Never tried to get forward and support Bodin. Lockyer 6 Generally solid apart from a moment of madness in the second half which luckily he got away with. Parkes 4 Sluggish, poor distribution. Brown 5 Average.
Bodin 5 Looks good when he runs at his full back, but he rarely does this and cuts inside too much. Lines 5 No penetration. Sinclair 5 Works hard but seems happy to pass it sideways too often. Cowan-Hall 5 showed some nice touches but got out muscled by his marker far too easily.
Taylor 7.5 Took his goal well ( a hint of offside ) Worked hard to fine openings. Easter 3 Had a shocker.Too slow and predictable.
Subs:Harrison 4 Could not force his way into the game. Montano 3 Made little impact. Leadbitter 6 Made some good runs and crosses.
Crowd 3 Ref 2 Truly Awful. Stevenage 6 Big physical and workmanlike.

Nicholls 5
J. Clarke 5 Lockyer 5 Parkes 5 Brown 6
Bodin 5 Put on the wrong wing !!! Lines 5 Sinclair 6 Cowan-Hall 5 put on the wrong wing !!!
Taylor 9 near faultless performance - put all the rest to shame Easter 4 another bad miss
Subs:Harrison 4 Montano 4 Leadbitter 5
Crowd 4 Ref 5 Stevenage 4
Smash and grab from them but we really went downhill second half !!! The team and manager don't know how to break teams down - Did DC really bring in a right-footed attacker to play him on the left ?? We really are going to be fooked if he doesn't change his mind !!

Bodin 5. Tried, but got nowhere. Sinclair 6. Worked his socks off. Lines 6. Bits of quality. But not often enough. Cowan-Hall 6. Liked what I saw. Encouraging showing.

His passing was decent, as good as Lines. He scored 1 of 3 chances, better than Easter. The team performance was dreadful. He was slightly the best of a bad bunch.

Nicholls 4 Seems to be lacking in confidence. Shouts a lot but not inspiring.
J. Clarke 5 Solid enough and reminds me a bit of Stuart Taylor in that he runs through the midfield and defence with the ball and doesn't know what to do with it! Lockyer 5 Not one of his better games Parkes 3 Still tries the clever stuff too much and caught in possession too often. Brown 5 Seems a bit lost down the left since Monkhouse departed. Hasn't got the same understanding with the replacement(s)
Bodin 6 Some skillful touches and good runs but needs to shoot more often, final pass goes astray far too many times Lines 5 Solid enough but no variation in corners and set pieces. Said to my lad exactly what he would do. If I know then the opposition certainly do Sinclair 6 Gives his all but let down with indecision and too many square or backwards passes. Is he following orders? Cowan-Hall 5 Good touches at times but seems a bit lightweight. early days though.
Taylor 8 Far and away the best player in the shirt. Needs more support from his team-mates, can't do it all himself. Easter 4 Think he is always at least a yard off the pace. Skilful player but age is creeping up.
Subs: Harrison 3 Didn't look interested. Montano 3 Jury still out. Seem him do far better but also far worse. Not great tonight. Leadbitter 5 Needs to start. His pace caused a few problems for the time he was on.
Crowd 5 Far too quiet except around when we scored. Think we have come to expect a defeat at home at the start, with a win being a bonus. Ref 5 Average Stevenage 5 Mid-table team, although their No 10 (Matt) looked dangerous. If only Blissett put himself around like that...... DC 5 Bit predictable, playing it too safely?
Drove home quite angry. This match was there for the taking and once again we didn't know what to do to break down their defence. Any ideas? Answers on a postcard to........

Nicholls 5 Long shot Nicholls not much chance with goals
J. Clarke 5 Can do so much better Lockyer 4 Not a good game by his standard Parkes 3 Inconsistant Brown 5 Average game,
Bodin 5 Good touches but gets nowhere Lines 4 Can do so much better. Looks like the player when he was with us before, can't tackle won't tackle. Sinclair 5 Not creative enough , poor error for goal, Cowan-Hall 5 Made Taylor's goal, reasonable start
Taylor 7 MoM Needs a partner Easter 2.5 Skilful passenger with no pace
Subs:Harrison 3 No impact Montano 2 Plays well one game in ten not good enough Leadbitter 5 Should have started
Crowd 4 We deserve better than this consistent crap at home. Ref 5 Not so useless as Mr. Kettle Stevenage 6 Fair play to them on their first win away this season. It had to be the Gas

Nicholls 5 doesnt inspire me and more to the point doesnt seem to inspire our defence. J. Clarke 6 average but I dont think right back is his best position Lockyer 5 below average Parkes 5 I'm beginning to wonder if he's good enough for league 2. Brown 6 worked hard Bodin 6 did ok Lines 4 a luxury we cannot afford Sinclair 5 at fault with the first goal, worked hard but chased a lot of shadows Cowan-Hall 6 a sublime pass for Taylors goal, did well, faded in the second half. Taylor 8 M.o.M. A good game by a man in form. Easter 4 see Lines Subs:Harrison 5 not the game changer that we know he can be. Montano 3 couldnt trap a bag of cement. Leadbitter 6 should have started the game or at least come on at half time. Crowd 4 I've been to livelier wakes Ref 2 Shocking, he should have gone to Specsavers on his way to the Job Centre. Stevenage 5 a bog standard 4th division team

Nicholls 3 Slow reactions for both goals.
J. Clarke 3 didnt get forward enough, would start Leadbitter vs Exeter. Lockyer 5 not his best game. Parkes 4 Sluggish. Brown 5 did alright.
Bodin 5 looked ok but needed to grab game by scuff of the neck and be affective. Lines 5 didnt impose himself on the game. Sinclair 4 100% effort 10% quality. Made mistake for thier first goal. Cowan-Hall 5 good assist needs games for fitness as faded.
Taylor 8 Great goal and all round game didnt deserve to lose. Give hime a target man and we will succeed. Easter 4 cant remember him doing anything of note until clean through.
Subs:Harrison 3 Poor impact Montano 2 Dire impact Leadbitter 4 start him on Saturday.
Crowd 1 been to livelier funerals. Ref 2 Stevenage 4 did a job on us same as crawley.

Nicholls 4 why is he being beaten so easily game after game, so far out as well? Need a keeper that won't have me biting my nails everytime he's near the ball.
Clarke 3 Not a winger, but not big enough to take the centre back positions over the other three, Leadbitter should of started. Lockyer 5 Not bad, but nothing special. Parkes 5.5 Not bad, brought the ball forward at least. Brown 6 Did what he could down the wing, but didn't have the chemistry with the newbie Paris.
Cowan Hall 6 Shows he hasn't played in a while, but at least got the cross in for Taylors goal. Hopefully he will start to show some good form. I thought he was supposed to be playing on the right? Lines 5 Nothing special, should of had a few pops, but doesn't seem to have the confidence. Sinclair 4 great fight in him as always, but kept passing the ball backwards, allowing the opposition to reform. Bodin 6 Made some good runs, cut inside too often, but then can you blame him he was put on the wrong side.
Easter 3 is it just me or does he always look like he's never giving it his all? never tries to make the cut's through the defence would rather play in midfield. Taylor 8 Brilliant crossing, good goal, in top form at the moment, need's someone alongside him to do some 1,2's with.
Harrison 4 almost as unnoticeable as Easter, got onto a few headers, but never seems to find space to control the ball and do anything special with it. Montano 5 Started to do some good crosses like he was doing in the Carlise game couple of weeks ago. Should of come on earlier. Leasdbetter 6 Brilliant as always down the wing, needs someone to connect with always seems to run the length of the pitch on his own to find theres no one in the box and no one to pass to.
Crowd 3 Quiet, this is the first year i've held a season ticket and standing in the East terrace i knew it was going to be quiet, but can't even hear the Blackthorn end half the time. Ref 2 Some bad decisions in the second half aided by some poor decisions by linesman in the first half. Stevenage 4 Confident with set pieces, didn't look anything special.
As soon as we calm down and keep the ball on the ground we play amazingly well, Clarke should be focusing on encouraging this.

Nicholls 5 Not much he could do with either goal
J. Clarke 5 did nothing wrong but not on his best form Lockyer 6 Quiet game, but nothing too wrong Parkes 6 as above Brown 5 Should have taken a couple of the free kicks
Bodin 5 Not his usual self Lines 5 Plays too deep, perhaps he is told to do that? Sinclair 4 Responsible for one of the goals; slowing the game down. He needs a rest Cowan-Hall 4 No better than what we have, why do we need him?
Taylor 8 Man of the match Easter 6 Should have had at least one
Subs:Harrison 4 really not very good at the moment Montano. Some nice passes. should get a run in the team to be fair 6 Leadbitter. Ok. 5
Crowd 4 Depressingly quiet Ref 2 Absolute sh**e. Totally inconsistent Stevenage 6. Played of the park for periods of the game

No surprises from the ratings as Matty Taylor was unanimously chosen as MotM with a score of 7.93. All posters rated him as the top player.
Taylor was 2.5 points above the second best player (Bodin). This is a huge margin for a score out of ten and the biggest winning margin these ratings have ever had. The previous biggest gap was 1.6 between Trotman and Brown at Aldershot last season.
Taylor also has the biggest gap above the team average. He was 2.8 above the team average of 5.13. The previous best (only recorded this season) was Leadbitter 1.9 above the team average against Newport.
Taylor is now only second to Lockyer in the number of times he has been MotM this season.
Nicholls 4.4
J. Clarke 4.6 Lockyer 5.2 Parkes 4.4 Brown 5.3
Bodin 5.4 Lines 5.0 Sinclair 5.1 Cowan-Hall 5.3
Taylor 7.9 Easter 3.7
Subs: Harrison 4.0 Montano 3.7 Leadbitter 5.2
Crowd 3.6 Ref 3.3 Stevenage 5.2
