It's Mini Me MkII's birthday next week, and the local Lego Shop are offering 25% off so I'll be popping in there later to pick something up.

Hugo - One trick I use to keep costs down is ole E-Bay. Basically, I look for stuff that is advertised with bits missing. As long as the kit comes with the instructions, then it's no problem, because as you know, the list of the kit (with part numbers) is always at the back of the instructions, and it really is not a problem (and quite cheap) to replace the missing parts online at lego.com .If the kit has missing parts then you can usually pick them up quite cheaply.
It does mean fiddling around a bit more, but you can make some really big cost savings for just that little bit of fiddling.
If it is advertised as having parts missing then it usually means that there isn't much bidding on the piece.
