Calling all Gasheads! York City are next up at the Mem – and we need you all to help make the atmosphere as loud and intimidating as possible. Over the last three or four weeks we have all sensed a nervousness around the ground, not only before the games, but during them too. Perhaps it’s because our home form wasn’t as good as we’d want it to be. Or it could even be anticipation that we’ll turn over teams as easily as we did on regular occasions last season. This is step up, a better league with better players and good, strong established teams who come to the Mem to take three points home with them. There will be ups and down this season. It’s rare for teams to finish a season in this league with a virtually unblemished record of results. Everyone beats everyone, as we all know too well, having been on the end of defeats by teams lower down the league. Last season, even with fewer away fans at the other end of the stadium, Gasheads at home games were incredibly loud at almost every game. The North Terrace sounds amazing when you’re all in full voice – and other parts of the ground react to that and will follow your lead in getting the place jumping. Players who sign for us often say the atmosphere is one of the reasons they chose Rovers. And the lads need you all to help them through games. Supporters being the 12th man is a cliché admittedly, but the players get a buzz from playing for you, and they love the appreciation they receive before during and after games. Gasheads are in my opinion the most passionate fans in the country. So let’s show that tomorrow, create a cauldron of noise and help them boys pick up another three points. Al the best Nick

When was the last season during our long, long period in League 2 when we were actually pushing for a playoff spot at Christmas? I seem to recall a long hard slog each season from Boxing Day until about April when we were confirmed as safe. Two years ago we never pulled away. In the promotion season in 2007 we were nowhere at this stage. In JW's first season back we had a brilliant run from Christmas until the Bradford whupping.
A couple of wins starting with York and we could easily be top 7 as we eat the turkey.

I personally try not to get carried away with what's possible this season, but since our experiences of 4th flight football since 2002 you have to say that it's been approached a whole lot better this time around....

Bit worried about today. It's one of those games where the team can't win. Lose and its a disaster, draw and it's a disaster. Win by a goal and its disappointing we didn't win by more. We need to stay behind them today gasheads. We lost to a non league team about 70 odd places below us so take nothing for granted today please.

I was going to go but I've just tried to get tickets for the kids on the U11s scheme and you can't get them on matchday. So now I'll have to stay at home instead. Not to worry, on a positive note I'm £40 better off.

I disagree with that a bit to be honest a scrappy 1-0 win would be win win win for me. It's all about the points and a win today is just as good as a win v Wycombe. UTG

Only 8 goals in the first half - 4 of which were in the first 15 minutes.
