It was bad this year. Very bad. Apart from 35 CGI films about cute talking plankton I've never heard of which were very cleverly made but identical to each other, here are my reviews of the worst bits.
Mrs Brown's Boys: What can I say? I'd heard about it but never watched it before. This year I gave it a view. What a load of feckin b0llocks. I thought Last of the Summer Wine was bad, but this was bad on a whole new level. Like Father Ted without any good jokes or plot and a hysterical audience shrieking at some fat bloke in a dress swearing a lot.
A Gert Lush Christmas: Russell Howard, that Bristol-born Liverpool fan, invited Neil Morrissey and the woman who played the lawyer that Phil Mitchell pushed off a building in EastEnders to speak in a strange mix of Somerset and Norfolk accents and celebrate all the outdated clichés about the West Country and produce the festive season's biggest turkey.
ET: Were the special effects really that bad? Was ET actually a huge pepperoni snack who occasionally said "Hoooooooommmmme"?
Her Maj Speaks: Usual fare. Good effort.
All in all, a disappointing offering.

I watched no TV at all this Christmas. Funnily enough I didn't miss it.

All in all, a disappointing offering. The best TV was/is on Xmas Gold. When ever you tune in it has brilliant TV on. Outnumbered, The Vicar of Dibley, Only fools & horses etc etc. I'm looking forward to Sherlock on New-years-Day, it was filmed in Bristol too, so look out for some landmarks. I saw The Hateful Eight too, Tarantino at his best. Also, if you haven't seen it watch The Revenant, Leonardo DiCaprio should win an Oscar for his part.

I noticed The Hateful Eight is available online. I have had to stop myself watching it as I have watched all Tarantinos movies in the cinema. With this one being filmed in very rare 70mm the cinema experience will be worth it.IMO DiCaprio is the finest actor out there and it is bizarre that he has never won an oscar.
Watched Creed last night and that was surprisingly excellent.

Watching death wish 5 at the moment ,wend recorded it, love these old 70's film, seem more realistic as the sh** filming adds a level of realism you don't seem to get with hd films

Watched The Hateful Eight on Tues at Vue Cribbs Causeway and it was well worth the wait.Typical Tarantino film with a great cast, superb dialogue and the usual violence. This was the slowest of Tarantinos movies, there is a 15 minute intermission during the movie a real throwback to the old days.If you like his films I strongly suggest you watch it in the cinema as it is shot in 70mm ultra panavision the first movie to be shot in this format since 1965 a benefit you cannot possibly recreate on your pc or your tv.

I could never sit in a cinema for nearly 3 hours and watch a film. It was a brilliant film though. Like jaggas said if you like his films watch it, you won't be disappointed.

Slower than Death Proof? I loved early QT but hated Jackie Brown. Still haven't seen Kill Bill. (don't like uma therman) Sat through the awful death proof, possibly the worse film ever made by anyone, ever and haven't seen a QT film since. Was Inglorious Basterds any good?

Death Proof was so authentically 70s that it was actually as bad as those 70s films. So I'm not sure if that's a criticism or not.
Didn't much like the Kill Bill films.
Inglorious Badsterds was brilliant, in my opinion.
However, all of his films are worth watching, whether you like them or not, Brilliantly made and challenging to understand sometimes.

aghast is spot on about Death Proof as the movie was meant to be a cheesy 70s matinee type cinema experience.
The Basterds is very very good with some great acting by Christoph Waltz and Brad Pitt you wouldn`t be disappointed.
Enjoyed Kill Bill but was annoyed at waiting a year for volume 2 when it was already in the can for release.
I am a big fan of QT, for me Pulp Fiction is the best movie ever made and still fresh 22 years on.

Death Proof was 3 hours of awful dialogue and 10 mins of decent action.

I'm not sure if Pulp Fiction is my favourite ever film - so difficult to choose - but it's certainly top 10. First time I saw it I was confused by the timelines when John Travolta, having been shot, turned up again right as rain. Seeing it a second time all was clear. Which is why his films are so much more than just gory thrillers. With brilliant dialogue, plot twists and out-of-sequence scenes, they make you pay attention and think a bit.

You also missed one of the best part about his films, the sound-track. Every film is excellent.
