January is set to be a big month for us playing Barnet, and then 3 promotion rivals in Oxford, Plymouth and Accrington Stanley. This could really shape our season and am glad we head into these fixtures in decent form. We shouldn't fear anyone in this league as I feel we can beat anyone but what return do you expect to get from these 4 fixtures? I think we will get 7 points from January.

Bring it on. If we win these games, we'll be in with a great chance.

A defining set of fixtures. 6 points would be useful, any more would be great.

If we are able to sign Gaffney before Saturday that will give everyone at the club a big boost ahead of the Barnet game. If we fail to sign him it could leave everyone a bit flat which I feel Barnet will take advantage of. (They have a great home record and will have a point to prove against us)
We can beat Oxford and Plymouth but will lose at Accrington so 6-9 points for me depending on Gaffney signing before Barnet.
We may also sign other players during the month but again signing Gaffney may now take all the available budget.

March April and May look a lot easier.

I expect nothing less than 15 points from a possible 12.

If we beat Barnet, I'd be happy enough with 4 points from the next 3 games.
Probably our toughest 3-game run of the season.

Actually think next week's is the most important. Win and we hopefully build a bit of breathing space between us and those outside of the play-offs. Takes a bit of pressure off of us in the bigger games, and we usually perform better under those circumstances.
Lose and there's the risk we could drop out of them entirely with a couple more losses in January.

the next 6 games will really point the way to how far we have come this season. I reckon they will go something like this
barnet away 3.1 rovers oxford away 1.1 Plymouth home 1.0 rovers accrington away 2.1 rovers Wimbledon home 3.0 rovers Portsmouth away 0.1
13 points out of the next 18 would suit me fine oxford probably have the toughest set of fixtures playing 3 of the top 5 in the next 6 games, rovers northampton and portsmouth

Our last 7 fixtures look an easy run in, (although the teams at the bottom may be fighting for their lives). Northampton being the one tricky game.
If we can keep up with the pace and take points off a few of our rivals along the way then we can go into those final two months as serious contenders!
First task is getting Gaffney signed up as he really complements the team and fits in well with what we've already got. We've got a group of winners and that will give us the edge at the end of this season imo!

I can't honestly see why we can't win at Barnet without Gaffney as we've done OK without him so far this season? Although DC may well be just happy to avoid defeat. Oxford's an interesting one as next week they have Swansea in the FA Cup followed by Millwall in the JPT, both games I assumed being televised, both those look testing games and they may well be a bit jaded by the time they face us on Sunday?

Never mind, it seems I misunderstood your post.

Yeh tough month ahead-for our opponents. Barnet may be our hardest game as only Northampton have more home wins at the moment.

If you delve a little bit further you will see that they have only played 3 top half teams at home and lost 2 of them! Plus our record against Barnet in big games is very good, I'm feeling confident!

I think we'll win them all apart from accy because since that 7-1 win a few years ago we always seem to lose against them.

Would take 7 points from next 4. Its important not to lose to our rivals near to us in the league. Bound to be a few meltdowns in this time!
