How high up do people think our manager will get in the football pyramid?
Also if he goes to a bigger club next season how well would we cope?

True, with players they have only one career so should make the most of it but with managers, especially one as young as DC, they have a very long career so hopefully darrel will stick with us for a little while yet until he moves onto bigger and better things which he deserves

An ex-City manager is in charge of England at the moment, so the sky's the limit! I can see DC getting to the Championship, at least.
I am hoping that he will continue learning his trade with us for at least another season, as I think that he is the backbone which the club has been lacking for a long time.

"if he goes to a bigger club next season" that's a bit negative when we now look like mounting a Play Off /promotion challenge, if we do go up I can't see DC going anywhere.

Hard to tell. Far I hope.
I'm not getting carried away. Football is brutal, a few bad games, weeks or months can ruin you!
One thing I will say about DC..
The most frustrating thing for me over the years was seeing teams (generally smaller clubs) come to the Mem and look comfortable and in control. There would be teams lacking in individual quality but their work ethic, togetherness and commitment would put Rovers to shame. This happened constantly. I used to think 'these teams should be nervous about playing at the mem'. But they weren't. We'd never trouble them. These teams would inevitably have no star players, and their managers were working off very average budgets. These clubs would be in the play off places and I'd be like 'how the hell can that be happening, why cant it be us'.
I used to come away from these games thinking why the **** can't we be like that? Why have we always got to have a 'big name' manager? Why always 'proven' players? Why cant we start all over again, and get a manager in who will put a 'team' and squad together who will do us proud, and want to play for the club.
That's what DC has done. There's been luck along the way, but I'll never forget the summer he started recruiting for the season in the conference, refreshing twitter every 5 secs during the pre-season friendlies, signing unknown players and thinking although we didnt know who the hell most of them were or whether they'd be any good, it was exciting and refreshing. We can see now what a tight-knit group of decent blokes he has got together.
I'm aware of the fact we are still in league 2. But I can't remember a time in the past 18 months under DC I have come away from a game feeling annoyed like I frequently used to. Because despite us losing 1-0 at home to Accrington Stanley, I saw players who actually gave a shìt, and I listened to genuine post match interviews. Same with dare I say it Chesham. You always feel when we get a crap result it won't take long to get over it. You can't feel annoyed at any of these players.
DC is the perfect match for Rovers. I love being this solid, hard working unit of a team that you know will put in a shift 100% every time they have to. It may not be the prettiest at times, but its bloody effective and something I have wanted at Rovers for years!

He seems to like getting clubs that aren't very well run and in debt promoted a couple of times, so will possibly get Bolton promoted back to the Premier League after getting us back in to League One?

Hopefully he's in a similar mould to Eddie Howe, we need more bright English managers for the good of the game.
He's building a good name for himself so far, and he won't want to blow it.
Respect him for being mentally driven, a lot of older managers just seem to be going through the motions.

I think he will stay here until he's taken us as far as he can. he said he would like to get us to league one, after that is whether the club back him up financially and if they can pay the price put on his head??

It's down to the club to match is ambition. Getting the stadium will give us far greater potential as a club. If we stay at the Mem, we'll never achieve more than league one.

Re: Weeezord's post, when DC does leave (hopefully a while into the future, having seen us comfortably back into L1... ), it's a chance for the club to finally start getting it right on managerial appointments. They've seen what sort of character/manager is required for success at this level, and that's certainly the case at the level above too.

I hope he sticks around for a while. No reason why he can't rise to England manager - is that a high level I wonder?! But at least a stoke / west brom level must be a fair aspiration given Pulis probably a good comparison. Gut feeling says most good managers do spend a bit of time in one place to prove themselves, so that could be us. Would be great for the club to have some stability as you can only build lasting foundations with that and quickly lose it with a revolving door. In a small club, the manager is just too key a role to keep changing. I think DC can see that, he seems to be enjoying it, long may it last

And this of course is the main problem going forward. Success over the last 18 months has seen crowds reach 9/10k a few times now, and our average is up quite a bit this year too. Certainly shows there is room for a new ground. Unfortunately its the time frame that screws us over, because it needs to be done soon before we're left behind. Most would argue we already have been left behind.

If he was to get snapped up or leave for whatever reason tomorrow, who would you want to see appointed?
My choice would be Steve Yates or Marcus Stewart and have a current/ex player fill their current role.

If the entire management team left together I'd want Nick Higgs to manage us temporarily while they looked for someone, and then we get a lucky point against a sh** team, and Nick gets the management bug, and gives himself a three year rolling contract.
