Lets hope Oxford are knackered and pick up a few knocks on Thursday night.
Anyone know if the Pub outside the ground is likely to be open before the game? I know there have been a few issues there the last couple of times we have played them.

Thanks for that.
Think some of our coach have booked lanes in the bowling alley so we can have a few drinks there.

With the closure of 'The Priory' pub then there is a limited choice of bars near to the stadium. Andy Wraight informs me, 'There is the Holiday Inn Express Hotel on the corner behind the Oxford Mail and South Stand, which has a fair sized bar. The bar welcomes football supporters and has Sky Television. Kim Rockall adds; 'There is a cinema and bowling alley complex located adjacent to the stadium, called Ozone. Inside the bowling alley there is a bar, which also has SKY TV and a fast food outlet'. There is also on the complex a Chinese buffet restaurant called Oxy Oriental.
Dave Langford a visiting Northampton Town fan tells me; 'I found a small local pub called the George Inn, situated in Littlemore just off the ring road (not far from Sainsburys). It had a number of television screens showing the early kick off and we were served fairly quickly. The Oxford fans at the pub made us very welcome and the landlord suggested that I leave my car in the pub car park for the duration of the match as the stadium was only a ten minute walk away. There were assorted pies and sausage rolls available. All in all a good find.' Please note though that for certain high profile games the pub does not admit away fans.
Another traditional pub in walking distance (15-20 minutes) of the Kassam Stadium is the Catherine Wheel in Sandford-on-Thames. This pub offers local real ales and cider, plus hot food snacks on matchdays.
Otherwise alcohol is also served within the ground in the form of: Carlsberg (500ml Can £3.90), Brains SA Smooth (Pint £3.80), Cider (500ml Can £3.80) and Wine (minature bottles £4).

I'm planning on getting tickets in the morning, hope there's some left! With the lack of pub options near the ground I wonder if it's worth getting an earlier train, having a couple pints in town and then getting a bus/taxi to the ground? Anyone know a decent pub in Oxford city centre?

Anyone know a decent pub in Oxford city centre? If you make it known to police your Rovers you'll be herded like cattle from the station to the ground. Think they actually put us on buses one time. Word of advice would be to try to slip away from any large Rovers groups as boring as that sounds. Otherwise you'll have your whole day dictated by the TVP! But oh yeah, few decent pubs in the centre apparently!

It took ages and we arrived at the ground with barely time for a drink! My worry is that the hotel and bowling alley won't accept large numbers of away fans

Any indication of how many tickets sold/left. What was the official allocation - seems to be a variety of figures quoted.

More tickets to be given to Rovers ?? Just looked at the ticket arrangements for Oxford home support and it looks like we have been given blocks 25 to 29 which means they have reserved 3000 So surely if our allocation is nearly sold we can have another 800 !

Was told by Rovers yesterday when I got mine there weren't many left at all, in which case it looks likely to sell out today. Wouldn't be too suprised if we're sent another 500 or so.

Wouldn't be too suprised if we're sent another 500 or so. hope so as it's sad not to let everyone who wants to go to go, especially with 5 days to go before the match. BUT I suspect Oxford Utd are under pressure from various socurces (their own fans & maybe Police), not to give more and let us create an even better atmosphere. I doubt Oxs will sell out; bit of supporter fatigue could be creeping in with so many big cup matches for them.

Just been announced on FB that our allocation of tickets have been sold. Yet, Oxford can take an extra 800 away fans, so why dont they lets us have those as well!
