Have you ever seen one of these? It's called a scolds bridle or brank, which was used between 1600-1700 to punish a nagging or foul-mouthed man or woman who would be forced to wear until they learned to "curb" their tongue . Marvellous. Do you think it would be socially acceptable to put one on She Who Casts No Shadow?  |
