Agree with Topper. I thought when he and montano ran at the defence we looked our strongest. It's what he did well last season and was good to see. Muff did a great job of containing our forwards so biggest threat was from mid and lines an important part of that. Taylor had a stinker I thought, even ignoring his fluff

It frustrates me that he doesn't tackle, I dont mean running around like the beard and tackling anything that moves, but when there are 50 50 chalenges to be made he needs to go in like he means it. Paul Scholes couldn't tackle but he never bottled a tackle.
I thought he had a good second half today, but I feel he could be so much better.

Lines Mk1 was the same so I doubt he's ever going to change in his second spell at the club, it'll be interesting to see if Lawrence is any better, if he ever gets fit!

Lines was at his correct level last year - in the conference he is a star player - at this level he is below average. He doesn't get enough assists, doesn't ever get stuck in, rarely wins headers and doesn't get enough goals. Frankly he doesn't really offer anything. Given that he's probably on a very good wage, I hope we look to move him on asap as we could easily bring in a lot better, for a lot less.

Yep and I felt it should have been Lines - all about opinions. A point was a good one though so can't really complain.

But DC subbed off Mansell yesterday? What's your point? That Lines was making a useful contribution? IMO CL is one of the most technically gifted players on our books. He will never be a Sincs or a Lee Mansell and his game is probably better suited to a higher level. He has held his own in the championship and if he was the complete midfielder he'd still be there. To say he is only conference standard is a bit daft. Ability isn't the issue its the contribution he can make in physical, long ball games against L2 donkeys. He does appear to suffer from motivational lapses at times but he was the classiest player on the pitch at Wembley and he often looks better against sides who try to play football. DC may well conclude that CL is a luxury player but he is what he is and it seems you either love him or hate him.

poor for me yesterday and at Oxford, never thought I would see him as the weakest link in the team when we re-signed him, the sooner Lawrence is fit the better.

"...He has held his own in the championship and if he was the complete midfielder he'd still be there..." Off the top of my head CL played 6 (six) games in the Championship.

I thought that the return of Lines would see a developed player, instrumental in the engine room. Deadly from set pieces. The creative spark in MF. A goal threat, a leader, a class above. A local lad with his heart on his sleeve. He is not doing what I thought he would. I thought he had a fairly decent game yesterday though against a strong Plymouth side.

Glad to hear that Tilly, I wouldn't want one person upsetting this wonderful bunch of players.

But DC subbed off Mansell yesterday? What's your point? DC knows a damn sight more about the team than we do and he decided Lines was a better option in the last 30 mins than Mansell, even though posters on here feel Lines is a liability? I thought Lines by his standards put in a decent shift yesterday, in what is only his second game back from injury. If Easter had gambled when Lines shot across the goal he'd have put us two up and Lines would have been instrumental in both goals.
