I tried to get to the bottom of the mystery of the empty seats in the South Stand, when the ticket office are displaying the "sold out" notice. Reply below from the Club SLO:-
@brfcslo Why is South Stand declared "sold out" on match days when there are seats available? Surely comps etc should be sorted by then?
BRFCSLO @tillys_Thighs we are restricted on capacity for the South Stand
Still doesn't quite make sense to me, as, apart from odd seats where ticket holders have not turned up, I would expect the only empty seats to be in the sterile area. Unless the capacity restriction does not allow for all available seats to be occupied - maybe that explains why they don't run out of pasties down there?

Hugo takes up 3 seats for a start. Ah - I'd forgotten about that. One seat for his blanket and one for his flask!

I guess it just means that the capacity of the South Stand has nothing to do with the number of seats in it and probably more to do with the number of people expected to get in and out reasonably safely, considering it's basically scaffolding and a tarp.

Number/capacity/location of exits, number of toilets etc etc - probably worked out the same way they work out the capacity of a nightclub

Hugo takes up 3 seats for a start. That's a lie and you know it. It's rows, not seats.

Perfect explanation - reckon you could give the club some tips on the benefits of communicating information in a clear and concise manner.

It's not scaffold and tarps though. It's reasonably well constructed and gets a safety ticket annually. One problem is broken seats. The gutter at the front eaves detail has never collected rain as it should. Water ingress is common and many seat frames are rotten and broken. The club do their best to replace them but before am expectant large crowd decisions need to be made. Antonio is correct in his statement but this is also a factor. A company called Arena seating manufactured the stand and the seat frames are running out! Bring on the UWE!

We didn't sell out. Tickets stopped being sold the night before the game and there were 1200 left plus 400 blocked. We had supporters trying to purchase on the day but sadly weren't allowed.

Why "sadly" the club couldn't sell them on safety grounds on matchday and fans had plenty of advance warnings it was all ticket. Tickets were also on sale until midnight online on Friday for any fans making a late decision to watch the match.

Sadly, because I was stood in the shop watching old blokes who have probably been going for 60+ years get told they couldn't purchase tickets. Not everyone is as sad as me and you and spends all day online. There were tickets available and the rulebook prevented them being sold in the name of "safety"
