Attachment DeletedReserves played in the football combination league and Spurs new signing Scottish intenational Jimmy Robertson made his debut at Eastville for their reserves.Later he came up here to play for Stoke making his debut for them with Geoff Hurst.Bumped into him in a pub in the village of Eccleshall and told him to his amazement I'd seen his debut goal in English football at Eastville.

Wonder how many on here were at the last game at Eastville, Can you remember how you felt on the day and after ? I remember feeling numb as the final whistle was blown, i remember looking round the ground inside and out and thinking what a state it had become it was so sad to see such terrible crowd, i am sure if it had been nowadays it would have been packed to the rafters but they were the dark days of hooliganism etc which had a profound effect as well as everything else surrounding the club at the time. Sorry to bring the mood down but we have all been far too happy on here lately and it's not normal ! UTG.
The last game at Eastville was not the league game against Chesterfield on 26/04/1986.
There was a reserve game played on Saturday 3rd May 1986 against Watford. I have an original program in "mint" condition.
David Mehew and Steve Yates played for us, Steve Sherwood, Tim Sherwood, Wilf Rostron and Nigel Callahan played for Watford.
Yatesy must have been about 10!

We definitely went backwards on the stadium front after leaving Eastville. I still don't think our current arrangement compares - although we do own it I suppose.
A lot of clubs have moved from their spiritual homes, but they all seem to have gone into swanky new stadiums.
Have any other clubs moved into a worse ground out of financial necessity like we did - or are we unique in that respect?

Yes, was aware of that game.
I was referring to the last official BRFC game at Eastville.

Well done.
