It's as if there's been an almost deliberate media black out, the first report by the B Post was interesting but that only took us up to lunchtime on day 1, the reports since seem a bit half hearted, BBC's Ally Durden apparently attended but they virtually reported nothing about the case, ITV don't seem to have reported anything and nobody even attended from the forum this time ,finally, the club's own website couldn't have said less if it had tried. It's hard to believe so much was at stake as we get better reports about meaningless mid week reserve friendlies!!! Nothing strange there.
I believe it was a waste of time but fully respect NH for trying. Why waste £150 per day in travelling costs when no-one was to be cross examined and it was just a argument about a previous Judges interpretation of the facts presented before her.
I heard those arguments at the case in May. I was not convinced, one of our own legal team was not convinced and unless a "rabbit" is pulled out of a hat, I cannot see the result changing.
Just one point. Did we try to negotiate a last minute agreement with Sainsbury? I have no idea on the answer but would not be surprised if we did.
one of our legal team was not convinced yet the Judge's error was that obvious.
The precedent we brought up seems to have been rubbished
I guess we just wait now and then the tough questions are around the corner. Wonga anyone?

Problem is none of us really know how the Appeal hearing went as we're just got a few sound bites to work on, although I guess as our solicitors apparently did it on a "no win, no fee" basis it wasn't actually cost us a great deal to Appeal, and I assume they must of thought it worth an Appeal as you won;t find many solicitors working fopr nothing!

I listened to the "Having a Gas" show on the radio this evening, thinking there would be some information or steer on how the case seemed to go. There were 3 fans on the show and all Geoff did was muse about the old days and discuss the present squad, with a cameo interview with Fallon thrown in. I found it all a bit disappointing to be honest, it seemed nothing more than a way of padding out the last local hour until they hand over to the national broadcasters. Surely the board could have put someone up to tell us a bit about how they saw the future, or is it all covered by confidentiality agreements these days? It's as if there's been an almost deliberate media black out, the first report by the B Post was interesting but that only took us up to lunchtime on day 1, the reports since seem a bit half hearted, BBC's Ally Durden apparently attended but they virtually reported nothing about the case, ITV don't seem to have reported anything and nobody even attended from the forum this time ,finally, the club's own website couldn't have said less if it had tried. It's hard to believe so much was at stake as we get better reports about meaningless mid week reserve friendlies!!! I still believe the court case is a side show to the main events coming up I was told yesterday that after the Rovers Legal boys said the closing words, Sainsbury put up little defence so the Judges finished the case early. The original schedule of 3 days was 2 days for the Rovers team & 1 day for the Sainberries team...

The main event could involve Lansdown as the provider of the funds to build the new stadium with Sextone's role as a friendly Trojan horse. Higgs seems relaxed about the rolling over of interest and redemption of the so called Wonga loan so he must be confident that someone will come up with the cash.

Let's be serious is Lansdown really going to fund two sports stadiums in Bristol for two professional football clubs, I very much doubt it!

Perhaps he has become a little embarrassed with the way his money is constantly squandered by BCFC and perhaps he may want to invest in a Club led by DC who is well capable of making things happen on the pitch. SL has a vast amount of money, enough to waste at Ashton Gate, reinstate Bristol at the Mem and invest in the UWE stadium. His name would be cemented in the history of Bristol forever. Move over Brunel.

How anyone could possibly think for one second that Steve Landsdown is gonna fund UWE or anything at all related to Rovers is deluded . It ain't happening !!

I just don't believe Lansdown has any interest in Rovers at all - other than marginalising us to try and improve the lot of his current playthings. The arrogant use of the name 'Bristol Sport', the way they have marketed the sh** on the billboards and every word that has come out of his tax-dodging little mouth so far suggests he'd be happier if Rovers didn't exist.
This is what makes the fact that despite his immense wealth they are being shat on from a great height in the Championship and we are seemingly on the up on a shoestring budget so amusing. Not that it will last of course. But the thought of him having any interest in Rovers now is fanciful if you ask me. He's made his bed and I'm sure he's determined to lie in it, no matter how filthy that bed might have turned out to be.

Did he not try to invest in rovers once upon a time? Knocked back he went to the darkside.
Or at least that's what I heard.

A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then. You don't make as much money as he has without being at least a little bit ruthless and every fan that we attract is now one less to follow his shower. And at the end of the day that is what it's all about. As a businessman I'm sure he would be ecstatic to see the competition disappear so he could monopolise the city with his holistic 'Bristol Sport' brand. I'm sure he'll have the last laugh eventually, but at least for now it must be killing him to watch ragass rovers pulling in our highest crowds for years with a forward-thinking, popular young manager and a positive vibe surrounding the club.

So does anyone know whether we will hear the day or two before that a decision is going to be announced or will it just be a bolt from the blue?
