Watched a couple of recent movies.
The Revenant is good albeit overrated IMO.
Room is very good. Simple but unique idea just a shame the ending could have been better.

Yeah, I didn't think Revenant was all that great either.
Can't say I could watch The Room though I gather it's very good. My wife is going to see it Thursday.

I was just disappointed as I had so many different thoughts in my heas where the film could end up but it just sort of didn't go anywhere. Shame as it could have been really great otherwise. And why couldn't you watch it Hugo? |

Don't think I could cope with the subject material in all honesty.
I know it's a story more about a mother's love and such, but I really couldn't get past the setting. I'd either rage or cry or more likely both. It may be one for DVD on my own.

I've read about Room, and like Hugo, I just know the subject matter just wouldn't be right for me.
It's the same with watching documentary's about small kiddies having something wrong with them, and going through operations etc.....I just cannot watch that type of programme.

Just to move the thread back to a lighter topic, I thought the Revenant looked a bit too much like a vehicle to get DiCaprio the Oscar he deserves. Don't get me wrong, great movie, but there was a nagging thought in the back of my mind all the way through it that they weren't 100% telling the story as they were 5% making him look good...
