OK, joke over - there ain't no consortium; there never was. I wish there was cos it might solve our problems but there ain't. Why two guys think there is God only knows. If they have been told something by someone close to the top of the club it's only p***taking. Misinformation for whatever reason. We'll probably lose the court case & will limp on somehow. End of. I have met one of the instigators of this thread & I really don't understand him here. He's probably being used (& laughed at) by someone who likes to wallow in being "ITK". let's move on.

correct me if i'm wrong, didn't the msp loan come about as a result of barclays calling in a loan and refusing to refinance us(and if correct why are we still banking with them), and din't tony the till say we needed massive crowds to break even this year, i'm thinking (probably incorrectly) that the extra crowd figures was to cover the monthly interest on the loan and when initially it didn't the interest was moved into the loan with a payback date.(which with my limited knowledge of finance seems fookin daft). but hey what do i know(i've only briefly read these threads as i can't dwell on it too much ;( ). The real worry in my mind is plan B as nobody knows what it is, i always tend to look at the negatives as if it turns out positive everything feels better, if it turns out negative well im preparedish. to me plan be could mean admin with someone like gd buying back lock stock and barrel (dangerous as admin sell to the highest bidder). If that happened for me would be one of the worst thing that can happen as it then makes us no better than the sh** and that is something that wont sit right. Still in reality all we can do is wait. in a related thread there's a lot of talk about the house, on the avenue and it's selling price, i'm going out on a limb here having donned body armour and built a flak bunker, at the end of the day business is business, and we have to ask ourselves if we were in the same place would we sell for less , we have to remember businessman/woman didn't make money by giving stuff away, but i would hope that once the house is paid for then the excess profit would by taken off one off the money owed to him by the club. Hope in wrong on most but just trying to reality check myself re: the house on Filton avenue, it was last sold 1997 for £94k according to the land registry. Unless there is a very recent purchase by ED Ware
Plan B fills me with no confidence really, because by definition it can't be as good as Plan B, and no doubt 'we' would find some way to f**k it up
You can opt not to have the sale price made public when buying. The really interesting thing was at the EGM when directly asked what crowd size do we need to break even - Tony the Till or Mr Higgs (someone will remember) replied 6,500. We had an average of 6,629 plus had a windfall of a Wembley appearance which couldnt be budgeted for. Even allowing for the other financials in the accounts, we exceeded 6,500 and didn't break even on a match day revenue vs football club costs. If that doesnt tell you how clueless our planning and forecasting is nothing will.

the real problem no ones mentioned is that whilst in the past Mr Higgs could fund his own failure, even accounting for the millions he made when Cowlin's were sold, his capacity to fund his own failings is rapidly running out.Way back before Xmas when Consortium A failed to go to anything past the initial enquiry stage it was said one of stumbling blocks was Mr Higgs wanted his own failure costs to be re-paid, I've always said yes he should get back what he's put into keep club going. But his continued and some say reckless legal persuit of a supermarket who said ,months before the club admitted it, that they were excercising their legal rights to wothdraw. Nah. So Higgs isnt selling the club down the river, but he's playing a massive blind card game and hoping he turns over a full set of aces and gets repaid in full, one way or the other. Do you have detailed knowledge of Mr Higgs finances? Of course you don't, he maybe richer and more affluent than ever, you don't know, only he does! It's not rocket science is it - ask him and he'll tell you how much debt to equity he's had to do to keep tom dick and harry of his back and allow the football club to continue trading. SO he doesnt even have the limited security of directors loans- he's had to 'buy' shares to throw money at his problems. He's put in more money than any previous chairman by a million miles -several million infact (mainly due to his failures). Sure his enterprises elsewhere ie Italy may have made a return and he may be prepared to keep spunking up his families inheritance on Rovers but that certainly isnt the message given out behind the scenes. If you believe even NH is that daft good luck to you, I hope you are right if no buyers emerge - for our clubs sake

That's strange. He told me face to face that he didn't have enough money to fit the stadium out and that was long before he had to spend a fortune chasing Sainsbury's through the courts. Back again after a short break.
Perhaps he has got his story muddled up between what he told you and he told 4/5 of us before the Supporters Club AGM, that is not possible is it?
Regarding the supposed announcement on Friday. I find it strange that it would take place on Friday, because if he comes out and says we will be tenants in a much reduced capacity UWE, he may get a "mild" amount of abuse from supporters at the game on Saturday, including no doubt a fair few in the boxes. Now there's a thought.
cant see anyone abusing Higgs if he delivers even a half capacity UWE as its clearly more than we have now in terms of facilities and possibilities. So I've no idea who these abusers will be, he's done far worse than deliver half a UWE and got away with it scott free.

The UWE keeping car parking fees has been mentioned several times as a typical off the cuff decision with no planning or revenue model. A certain west midlands club saved itself from closure by renting out its car park........

Anyone know anyone who works at the Swallow Hotel College Green? I'd love a quick peek at the register.
Anyone going to the Valentines Dance at the weekend? Get a photo of Sextons extra VIP table.

Given Sexton's recent bereavement I'm not sure that joke is in the best of taste by your standards? Sexton has requested an extra VIP table pal. There was no bad taste joke as I am aware of his situation. It so happens he has requested one. It doesn't even mean he will be there.
