If this happens I'll run onto the pitch at the Mem with ambrosia custard smeared on my genitals with a cucumber up my anus.

Perhaps they've had an early indication from the Judges the Appeal isn't going to succeed? It may have even been obvious from the way the Appeal hearing went? Although that's assuming there's any truth in this rumour, don't forget the "end game" and "new beginning" threads plus Taylor was being sold to pay the court fees have all been started by the same OP! Judges give no indications until their judgement. They probably give enough indication by their questioning during a trial how it's going to end, after all the fact Sainsbury's barrister spent 5 minutes giving their evidence probably indicates how confident they were feeling.

They would have made a decision already if it was that straight forward.

If we are about to be taken over by a billionaire then I'm sure we will not be so worried about Taylor. It MT has signed a pre contract with Hearts it means he does not want to play for us next season.
Why would anyone want to keep a player who does not want to play for us.
My problem was, if this info gets out and Matty has a bad game(s) and misses easy chances he will get some fearful stick from certain sections of our supporters.
So a week ago Gasincider was posting he'd only heard a rumour now it's fact he's signed. You two seem to be playing a dangerous game if you haven't got your facts right.

Ok - I have just spent half an hour of my life reading 6 pages of............. , and I am still not sure I am any clearer about anything. So, I have a coupe of questions regarding the general consensus of opinion regarding a potential takeover:
1) Would you really want the club to be taken over.
2) Given the current rumours regarding the takeover by a consortium (or possibly a brace or even a trio of consortia), would you trust them any further than you trust the current Board of Directors to act in the best interest of Bristol Rovers Football Club.
Some of these questions may have already been covered in other threads, but we all have our own ideas about the future direction of the club, so
3) Why don't we all club together to form our own consortium? 1 I don't think we have a choice given the debts? 2 Good question, foreign investment is a concern if it's true. 3 Unless one of us wins the lottery where are we going to raise the money?

Remember, this news was "broken" by Browner.
There is a Board meeting on Monday so I assume we will find out Tuesday the veracity of this info.
Doubt it.....they don't usually report to everyone after a meeting!

Well it would be easy to hide behind the fact that a consortium are announcing via NH on Monday that they will be taking us over and is the one I have been rattling on about. Again this has come via a close contact at the club. However, this consortium is apparently Jordan based and apparently includes the Jordanian prince who is trying to get elected to succeed Sept Blatter. I have no no idea if this will be good or bad for our long term future but there we go. if the other consortium wish to play a part in our future they need to go public immediately so that we can all have a say. But as it stands there is only one game in town. Heres hoping. Keep the faith UTG. Not sure which part I find funnier...probs the 2nd. good effort

All this reminds me of a story I read about a Twitter account 'predicting' the Paris attacks in November... www.albawaba.com/loop/debunked-how-twitter-bot-predicted-paris-attacks-768624As a general idea: So guess if you post often enough about a buyout, sooner or later you'll get it right....and incidentally I'm not saying this is the case regarding either the posters this time around, the 'source' this time around, or indeed any of the previous posters or sources the other time(s) around. I'm also not comparing them to monkeys and/or Shakespeare...much... ....I *am* suggesting there should be a maximum number of times people can post stuff like this and be wrong before they get banned from the internet....

I think you're right there, I took it as a bad sign when it was over in 2 days instead of 3 as well, just felt like one of those "yeah I don't need to hear anymore, you don't have a case" just my thinking of course, that was just my first thought when I saw it was done, I'd be very happy with a bit of conpensation and then just go back to the drawing board tbh, that would be a heck of a lot better than the probably nothing

They would have made a decision already if it was that straight forward. Is it not a set time they have to announce the decision? Just a genuine question as I have no idea, I just thought since they said they'll make the decision in March maybe for some reason they have to take that amount of time regardless? Its a bit stupid that it takes that long anyway!
