According to the Evil Post, a new commercial manager is coming in. Will this lead to the end of the shirt tombola sponsorship?

Whilst the shirt sponsorship draw was a good idea at the time, I would imagine that the club will look towards longer term commercial partnerships again. In some way the shirt sponsor says a little something about you as a club. With the current set up we could have a kebab shop or a tanning salon on the quarters next season - no disrespect to proprietors of such businesses.

We received a decent amount of money from the draw, although we did end up with waste management and a pub splashed across our shirt. I guess that's the drawback. It did however give these small companies a chance to get their name out there, so it's good that we were giving back to the community. It's a shame Thatchers never won.

Yeah, I liked it, thought it was great for local businesses, and afaik, it raises more money than we might get as a League 2 team (and even League 1). Istm, though, if we are to progress up the ladder, and with our potential extra exposure in the Middle East, it will have to be dropped sooner or later.
