George Ferguson, Charlotte Leslie etc. all in it for one thing. I think once you recognise that, seeing them do PR at the football etc. isn't so annoying. At least Charlotte Leslie tried to do something by raising the profile of the club's issues. Slippery George will do whatever is right for himself. At the end of the day our new owners are trying to play the political game, and recognise that you have to at least talk to politicians, you don't have to like them

Perhaps it's just clever PR by Wael ie get the local Mayor on your side, something NH seriously lacked with his apparent "I'm always right" approach. easy to kick a man (who none of us really know) when he's gone. GF was invited to wembley & also at promotion celebration at the Mem.

The Amex is in Falmer, it would never have got built in Brighton! Well, it's in the Brighton council area. Interestingly, according to wiki: Planning permission was given by the unitary authority of Brighton and Hove in June 2002, with the intention of the stadium being ready for the 2005–06 season.[4] The plans for the stadium were fought by neighbouring Lewes District Council and local residents. While the stadium lies completely within Brighton and Hove, part of the north-east of the site is in Lewes. Bennet's field as it is known is now used for parking. This is true. The lib dems in Lewes tried to scupper the plans but didn't get very far. There were problems as the ground was built within the boundaries of what was to become the south downs national park. (apparently). Amazing how often other clubs face problems, overcome them, and build their stadiums. Only Rovers seem to have been in a perennial spiral of disappointment. Hopefully that's all over now.

Red Trousers didn't get to do his speech being drowned out by "Sheethead" - he looked very embarrassed at the time (possibly due to wearing BLUE trousers that day!).

The greens were in charge of Brighton for years. It ended with the city having one of the lowest recycling percentages in the UK and some of the highest polution (and its right next to the sea so you'd expect clean air at least. The imposition of a widely ignored 20mph limit and badly designed bus routes has led to chaos and buses backed up everywhere. The irony! I thought we in the Bristol area had one of the best household waste recycling rates = well done us.
The issue about air pollution is clearly a serious one worldwide. There are boffins who can make / invent / develop alternatives to the internal combustion engine, but without government pressure (ie Uk, EU, Utd Nations) then change will be slow. We had a ride recently in a Tesla car. All electric with a stunning performance and range of around 300 miles - but they cost about £64k !!
One thing's for sure, the answer isn't bicycles.
Population control is the only answer, they can mess around for ever inventing new cleaner transport but if we keep getting more people using them you might aswell P in the wind.

Yes, it would make sense, we all know when we will die and this will save £billions by not all wanting to get to 100+ with half our bodies being spare parts of others!

What annoys me about red trousers is I remember him banging his drum saying vote for him and he will guarantee a new stadium for us planning wise. When it hit the fan with trash he did nothing in terms of voice his outrage or pull strings at council level and then employed the sewer rat that was Radish and the cause of all the trouble as deputy mayor and minister of sport for Bristol. How does that work? Can't wait to see the back of the car hating shehead failure. The sooner the better. Couldn't have put it better myself.
Bristol is supposed to be the Green Capital in Europe. Yet thanks to Ferguson's 'take back the city centre' approach, our residential area is choked with traffic - so we are sucking in more car fumes. Thanks George. But at the same time traffic in the city is still very heavy. So it's lose-lose, George. And I am a car lover !
And next year plans to be a city of sport, hypocricy or what

And next year plans to be a city of sport, hypocricy or what I've got to say that good, reliable, cheap public transport is the way to go. Here in Frankfurt, the public transport is so good that I didn't own a car for over ten years. If I wanted a car on weekends etc for any reason, I just hired one.
