No doubt arriving on a flying pig. Would rather have a decent central midfielder anyway.

We have five in-form strikers (according to DC), and two fit CMs.

I can't dare to dream but lambert Taylor would f**k up all defences at our level.
A good investment if you can afford it - you'd have to say we would be much more likely of making auto with a player of that calibre.
Sayjng that, is it a good investment if you could arrange it? 80k per week for 10 weeks is 800k, that's a huge amount.
In this dream world, I doubt the other players would mind about the money to get a top prem player (or slightly past best top prem and England player) for a few weeks.
Let's hope this happens but I agree that it doesn't seem possible but I did hear it from a non BS source and I also will rely on my past form of announcing Chris lines was coming long before this was public!!
This is a different source but has come up in a few different places

I just can't help getting excited about these things these days... We thought there was no chance of the takeover being true. C'mon King Rickie, you know you want to ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) UTG

I really cannot see how this is true.
If he is available for loan, there must be a ton of championship teams who would be after him (One of which I imagine he will end up at permanently in the summer). Even with our history together, why would he want to drop down three leagues?!
Also for the first time since we can remember, we have strikers who are regularly scoring. Yes I know Lambert caliber is far greater (and I would never say no to him coming back!) but it could also have the opposite affect and disrupt the team. I cannot see how DC would want another striker, and we all comment how we could do with another midfielder to get us through to the end. If we really had enough to cover his wages, two or three quality players in the weaker positions would surely benefit the team more?

Even if it were true, no thanks.
Lambert hasn't been playing or scoring regularly pretty much since he left the Saints. Coming to the closing stages of the season, I think that even in League 2 it may take him a little too long to find his feet again.

I agree, I cannot see this happening either tbh, but I really didn't see the events of last month coming either.
WBA's Season is all but over, they are heading for a mid table finish & you could tell what being back at Rovers meant to Sir Rickie when he came back for the pre season friendly....could this be a statement of intent by the new regime?
As for disrupting the Team by bringing in decent players, maybe this is something that we as a Club will have to get used to? We have never had these sort of resources available before and have always been a selling Club.
I still cant believe what has happened over the course of a few weeks....as I said, all very unlikely, but the very fact that this is even being discussed would have been unthinkable a few weeks ago.
