A very important reaction save today from mildenhall from a point bank header,Taylor scored not long after to kill the game but if that had gone in,it would have been a very nervy ending. Well done Mildy another cracking save at a crucial time.

I was impressed by Cambridge, luckily they can't defend! Are midfield was poor today, it reminded of the game v Plymouth, at times they simply cannot get hold of the ball. We missed Lockyer. And mcry needs to improve his distribution. I don't think we will keep many clean sheets with a similar performance. Outstanding work rate, esp Montaño, with endless tracking back. I was near the dugout and he was really unhappy being sub'd, but im sure hes aware he needs his legs for monday

How could our midfielders be poor when we won 3-0 and it could have been 6-0 if we'd taken a few more chances or 6-2 if Cambridge had taken there's? It was just a brilliant end to end free flowing game, given we lost Lockyer, Mansell & Sinclair something had to give defensive wise. The worry is OC won't recover by Monday unless he was just taken off as a precaution.

We dont know what was said to derry, and as it was out of the ground and not near kids i dont have a problem. I guess "u ***d up on gaffney" would be pretty close.

I reckon he will be available for Monday as should only be bad bruising at worst.

Well done lads despite the loss of Lockyer (who was a big loss) I think we played really well against an organised and well drilled Cambridge. The opening few mins were a bit ropey but once we settled I thought that we controlled the game for large parts, i have to disagree with a few posts in regards to our midfield as I thought they performed admirably. I thought lines , Clarke , monty and bodin created many chances ,Lines was our creative spark in the middle whereas Clarke just broke up pretty much everything Cambridge tried to do through the middle , montano not only went forward with pace and a bit of trickery but his defensive duties were also spot on. Bodin besides his two quality goals also was a constant threat all afternoon. To be fair I thought the whole team played well today and I for one can't knock any of them ! Mildy is also back to his best ! Well played gas please keep this up UTG !!!!!!!!!

Our two CBs struggled today and Ollie and Lines didn't give us that much control. We must be thankful though that Bodin, Montano, Taylor and Gaffney were all lively and linked up really well at times.

Going off subject. Don't suppose anyone knows how the gentlemen is who was taken ill at half time in the blackthorn? Have to say it was really worrying and the response from stewards and St Johns seemed less than adequate. Sorry to criticise, I know these people are volunteers but I really feel we deserve better cover than what was offered.

He collapsed due to heat and was taken to hospital as a precaution. Sounds like it was just bruising from the fall, thankfully.

I think the battle in midfield was won because of lines and Clarke , like I said in my previous post Clarke was not giving their centre midfield anything he quite literally stopped anything they threw at us , whilst he was doing that he then went in to give the ball to lines who then got our wingers moving with him. Also you say our defenders struggled? In what way ? Yes mildy made a couple of really good saves but I don't recall is being ran ragged at any stage. Don't get me wrong we did miss lockyears prescence and positional sense at times but to say we struggled after winning 3-0 is a big harsh. The good thing about football though is everyone has a different view! Not knocking your post mate just a different opinion.

Surely without Locks & Manse an open game was the plan, or does that mean we have to give DC too much credit? I really can't understand how anybody can knock any of our players after such an outstanding performance in which all the starting 11 played their part not just 4 individual players.

2 hour drive to Bristol and 2.5 hr drive home Was it worth it? Too true it was It was a great team performance with great goals and solid defending If they keep playing like this surely the playoffs are the worst that can happen UTG

Thought it was a good game and thought Cambridge looked a decent side. They certainly never gave up after going 2 down and I didn't think the game was a done deal until the third went in. I think DC thought the same as he went a little crazzzzy in his celebration!
