First time post and hope to join in quietly rather than make a huge entrance.... This conversation started with my mate a few weeks ago, but we got chatting about how well Rovers were doing which then looked very likely the playoffs for us and I asked the question if you had to choose a playoff victory or success for England at the Euro's then what would you choose? It got a mixed response, I for one would choose Rovers title or promotion over England always, this includes a World Cup final. Watching the England game tonight, I admit I may have taken part in an exaggerated celebration in a friendly but made me think about the summer and would I rather see Darrell Clarke or Roy Hodgson on a open top bus parade, I'd choose D.C every time. My mate on the other hand would rather see a united country and see every fan from every club celebrating together. Maybe I'm selfish but as much as I'd like to see England do well in the summer and beyond I'd get much more satisfaction and pleasure seeing our Rovers triumph. Interested on other opinions? UTG

Rovers over England. Rovers promotion over an England Euros win. Rovers promotion over an England World Cup win? That's a trickier one for me.

Difficult one to call, but on balance I think Rovers because England is all about th Premier League and internationals are an occasional event whereas Th Gas are a weekly obsession for me and my lad.
That said I'm going to be greedy and say promotion for us and a European Championship for England!

Always the gas before England for me! Like you I would much rather see DC and the boys gain success than England, I'm bristolian first then English second , don't get me wrong I would love success for both but if it was a must to choose between the two it will always be rovers!

Very proud to be English and always desperate for us to do well but it's got to be Rovers for me too.

Everything gas for me. Don't really care for England and the whole meaningless Premier Lge stuff.
gas is the only football I can get really passionate about.

I do appreciate a Bristol Rovers flag at an England away match though, I'm very hypocritical.

Don't give a toss about England. Full if overpaid, jumped up primadonnas. Rovers are the only football team that I am interested in.

Got to be the Rovers for me England have given me too many false hopes over the years, I am hoping that we all be on cloud nine after our back to back promotion so I won't be too bothered about England in the Euros. # UTG

Rover's. No one i know who supports a club properly, well with a real passion has that much of an interest in England. And the people I know who r really into England, don't really have a passion for a club, or support man utd or some other corporation and have never seem them play. That's not too say there arent people who don't do both, thus the club flags at England away matches. I'd do as far to say that I enjoy England losing, as most of the England fans I know are *** t****!

Rovers over England every time. Don't get me wrong i watched the match tonight and I'm delighted we won and it was the best I've seen us play in donkeys years but i don't feel anything like the connection with the national side compared to Rovers. If I had to chose between the Gas winning on Monday but it meant England would lose every game in the Euros I'd take 3 points Monday.

One of the "silly" questions. Love the Gas and love the country of my birth. Not a conflict of interest. UTG!

England may only win one trophy in my lifetime so not sure I'd want to pass on that chance.

I must admit tbone I do agree with you, there was a time when my whole family would get together for England games since we couldn't do it due to different local allegencies, but these days we would rather watch paint dry. England are indeed over hyped , over paid , premier league players who in my opinion couldn't give a monkeys about the national team or the fans who travel the world to watch them turn out utter tripe when it comes to playing the better teams. Mind you I think the mindset of this current up and coming crop of players may be different. I gave up on England after the 2010 World Cup , Wayne Rooney mouthing off to the cameras about how sh** our fans are because the travelling fans were voicing their displeasure at drawing 0-0 with Algeria was the straw that broke the camals back for me , the bloke is a grade a tosser and is everything that is wrong in the modern day footballer ! Rant over, deep breath.

Rovers always, hands down, very rarely watch England nowadays. Watched a rom-com with the missus tonight instead!

This England team is genuinely the best I've seen. They reminded me of the gas tonight, all young up and coming talent worked their socks off showed some real passion played Germany of the park mostly. I agree the England stars of old caused many fans to be dissolutioned but I will be supporting the current crop at the euro's they look really promising and little more humble. Hope they beat the Welsh as a minimum, cannot stand Welsh fans almost as much as the sh**. I'm happy to say I support only two teams BRFC and England split 50/50.
