Gas takes it for me, with England close behind. Even though I obviously want England to win in all sports, no other sports team/person comes anywhere near Gas/England football for me.

Hmm mmmmmm Rovers or England, let me see....... oh go on, Rovers. Mind you it would be a close run thing for me between C**y and England ;-). thats a thought. As much as I want England to win, I'd take a City relegation over England winning Euros UTG

Not suprised to see some wacky comments on here.. If the op is talking about this year alone then a Rovers promotion for me. For people to rubbish the prem and say Rovers every time etc ..well. Would the premier be so rubbish if we were top of the championship? If we had players in the National team, wouldn't you watch them and want them to do well? but we aren't, don't, and most probably won;t ever be. so it's a complete non-issue at the moment. and what makes you think that we will suddenly beat or even equal our best ever finish in almost 100 years of league football (6th in the 2nd tier)? City have spunked circa £11m a year up a wall for 6 seasons in a row, are owned by a billionaire (whose money is entirely his own), and had crowds double or triple ours. and look where it got them. has-beens, and crazy contracts to 'names' on their way down. exactly what i don't want us to do whatever lge we are in. the money in the championship is crazy and verging on the immoral, let alone the money in the PL. That's the reason City have got no-where in that lge, as they now refuse to pay what players / agents want, and have to try to compete with PL parachute payments as well. I can 100% say I passionate despise the PL and all it stands for; even being a breakaway members-only club itself. I genuinely hope we are never in it. It would change us so much it wouldn't the club I've known for over 25 years. I'm all for 'professionalism' and a decent stadium but I just can't see us in the PL especially considering consistently low crowds since the 1970's.

This England team is genuinely the best I've seen. They reminded me of the gas tonight, all young up and coming talent worked their socks off showed some real passion played Germany of the park mostly. I agree the England stars of old caused many fans to be dissolutioned but I will be supporting the current crop at the euro's they look really promising and little more humble. Hope they beat the Welsh as a minimum, cannot stand Welsh fans almost as much as the sh**. I'm happy to say I support only two teams BRFC and England split 50/50. I agree with most of that except the bit at the bottom about Welsh fans. My wife and her family are Welsh they're lovely people and we're over here in Merthyr for the weekend, we all watched the England game last night and they were really in to it and they always see England as their second team. Meeting my wife's friends over the years I've met Merthyr Cardiff and Swansea supporters and I've always found them very loyal, very knowledgable about football and friendly with one exception. Compare that to the Sh1!heads I've met and well, there is no comparison. Totally agree mate I have some very good Welsh friends and there is definitely no comparison between the Welsh and the sh** ! Personally have nothing against the Welsh national team as in my opinion their players all play for the shirt and always have done , can any England fan hand on heart say that we ( England ) always give 100 % when wearing the three lions. Again I want England to do well but until these young up and coming players start actually concentrating on the game instead of social media, cars, massive headphones and how big a diamond they can put in their ear the cycle will always be the same! Dog sh** football for massive wages!!!!!

I always find this is a stupid question. They aren't mutually exclusive so I always want England and Rovers to win.
Up until May I will be right behind the Gas hopefully cheering them on to promotion home and away. But in June I will be in France cheering England on just as passionately. The narrow minded person who posted earlier slating all England fans has either never been to an England away game/major tournament or was extremely unlucky if he did. I've met some great people on my England travels who support passionately club AND country. There may be a few undesirables at England games but a lot of them are good folk.
It is possible to be equally passionate about both you know.

I would take England losing the euros final and a rovers direct promotion. I would probably also take England winning a world cup final and rovers losing in the playoffs.

Rovers all day long. As much as I would love to experience an England win in a major tournament, Rovers always comes first.

I understand your point regarding the PL, and I agree to some point. put you cant expect the new owners to throw millions of pounds at buying a football club, then building a state of the art stadium, to not want to be in top flight football? after all that's where the mega bucks are. plus wael has a love for the PL with following Chelsea, he would want nothing more than to see Chelsea at the UWE in a competitive game? i agree i wouldn't want him to throw money at the club on expensive players and contracts. which i don't think he will do, as he talks a lot of building a good youth academy... but you can bet he will have his sight on the PL in the next 5 years?

Like most others, Rovers over England. Was a good game last night tho, hope Rooney isn't fit to play as Kane/Vardy would be cracking and make me interested - if Rooney gets in on name alone I doubt I'll be able to get excited. Is it really name alone, though? This is the same Wayne Rooney who has scored 10 in his last 11 England games. I think Kane, Vardy and Rooney all have a part to play.

I know in five tournaments he's scored six, which isn't impressive. Also I must admit a bias, I really don't like him - Also his showing for Utd has been sporadic this year, guess he is playing in an under performing team tho. You're right tho, the three of them will all play a part and when he does play I'll be hoping he plays really bloody well!

Why do we need to choose they are hardly connected? Rovers to be promoted followed by England beating Germany in the Euros final will do nicely for me.
