Hi folks just a thought, there are many gasheads who are no longer with us, do you think it would be good if relatives could buy a brick in the new stadium suitably inscribed as a tribute to all those gasheads who stuck with us through the hard times?

Yeah, Steve Hamer was asked about this in an interview, recently, and he agreed that something along these lines would definitely happen.

Was going to post the same suggestion last week......yes would be a fitting tribute as i think there are many of us who have lost loved ones who have been Gasheads all of their lives.I personally would like to do something along those lines for my Dad. UTG

I remember when we played Stoke a few years back (1-3 win) we had a walk around the stadium and near the main entrance was exactly this, loads of bricks with names inscribed on them, lots and lots of people who had passed away but family & friends wanted them still "involved" with the club. Must have made the club a few quid, and your name there for as long as the stadium is open.

I actually work for the company who supply the engraved bricks for various football clubs around the country, some examples are Port vale, Coventry, Sunderland, Watford etc. It is a fantastic idea which gives the fan more of a connection to their beloved club. I do know that my manager had already spoken to certain people, awhile ago about this for the UwE but to no avail but obviously with new owners and their ideas going forward it might get taken up. It is a great concept which could make the club a tidy bit of profit. If you look on the wall in the blackthorn end, we have already put up some examples. UTG

Thats interesting that the previous board was approached but apparently not overly keen! So when the time comes does anyone know the process to get it in front of the folk who can make a decision? Ps. Had Dads funeral at the Memorial Woodlands yesterday, a great send off and ties and scarves on show UTG

I believe that we will re-approach to try with the new owners.UTG

Two of my Uncles were lifelong Gas heads, I would definitely invest in a Memorial to them.
