There are some pretty stupid comments in this thread condoning going on the pitch. Wankers all of them. A large portion of the crowd had had a drink or two including myself. I and everyone else got just as excited as the arse holes who got over the hoardings but even in our drunken excitement managed to stay in our spots.
And to those doubting wether those that got onto the pitch had had a drink I can confirm some had had a skin full and some were 50+ including the tosser who was nabbed by the stewards and ejected.
All should be identified and banned.

Yeah he was a knob and his reaction to the Harrison incident was pathetic but no excuse for the couple of bottles. You probably couldn't see it in the away end (and were probably too busy jumping around celebrating anyway!) but right after your first goal went in, our goalkeeper was trying to hold onto the ball (to waste time) and one of your players (couldn't see who, but he was of afro-carribean appearance) was attempting to get it back from the goalie, and when he couldn't, he just punched him full in the face. Everyone around me was awaiting the inevitable red card as blood appeared on the goalies face afterwards, but incredibly the ref must not have seen it. (and to be fair to the goalie, he didn't go down either, which possibly saved the Rovers player) Since the match was being filmed, I would expect some kind of retro-punitive action, although I am not sure if someone from Northampton would have to make a complaint for that to happen, and since we got promoted anyway, maybe they will just let it go?
Good luck for the rest of the season!
I saw it. Was hardly a punch. And your keeper and centre back made a big deal our of it.

It doesn't seem to come under existing rules, or is deliberately ignored by refs. But the wrestling for the ball after a goal seems to happen in every other match, these days, and often something happens that would earn a yellow card at other times during the game, and the refs always seem to let it go, after a goal. The FA probably need to say something like, hanging onto the ball to delay the game after a goal is exactly the same as kicking the ball away before a free kick, or something like that.

No matter how much you have to drink, you know what the rules are and you now the potential punishment! I totally agree with you Sean!! What would those wankers think if they then found that we've been deducted points and missed out on promotion, either automatic, or by playoffs? Anyone defending them cannot call themselves a supporter of my club!

The fact that they can't means those that come late, whether watered up or not end up standing up, usually in the Aisles blocking the view of people some of whom aren't able to stand.

True supporters know exactly what I mean! It is my club a long time before Wael took over! I'm not going to get into an argument about it. By condoning their behaviour (which also includes the throwing of the bottles!!) you are saying that is acceptable and that if your club was deducted points because of it, that is acceptable.................

I wasn't there but going by the highlights I couldn't see anyone on the pitch - just a handful who a took a step or two past the ad boards. Seems a lot of fuss about nothing. Obviously the person who threw a plastic bottle should get a rap on the knuckles.
Great celebrations - wish I was there. Hopefully more of the same on Saturday!

I wasn't at the match but like a previous poster asked did anyone actually enter the field of play or just climb over the boardings? Genuine question to anyone that was there?

Agree Sean's comments above. This type of behaviour is beyond embarressing - I'm sure I will be corrected but understood we sold out our allocation to our "best" and most "loyal" supporters before tickets went on general sale? As such the club should know exactly who these season ticket holders and other "priority group" ticket holders are - and ban them Asap before the FA finally lose patience and punish us all.

No attempt to over dramatise his bignose? As the goal cam shows, the ref was within 5 yards and looking directly at the incident - and chose to do nothing. If that is what is classed as a "punch full in the face", god help us.

Thanks for replying , I just hope we don't get docked any points! Nah, typical big game stuff. I hope you are right, I just worry as we seem to be involved in these type of situations fairly often. I'm not knocking anyone as we are all different but I'm sure eventually we will end up getting punished. Haven't we already been warned by the F.A. about our future conduct?
