Mildenhall 6. Little to do,but did it ok
Leadbitter 7 An attacking threat, but crossing was off today
Lockyer 7.5 . Would have been 8.5, but I think it was him that got turned too easily for their goal. McChrystal 7.5 Steady enough.
Brown 7.5 Defended well and a cracking goal.
Mansell 7 Reasonable return, worked hard. Lines 7 Got forward really well.
Bodin 8.5 My man of the match. good finish and a constant threat. Montano 7 Good set up for first goal, disappeared at times.
Gaffney 7 Ran his socks off again. Taylor 5 Would have been 4 if he hadn't scored.water poor all afternoon.Again.

Mildenhall 7 beaten by a beauty but never thought they'd get past him again, one lousy kick into the East Terrace otherwise I felt his distribution was amongst the best we've seen from him. Leadbitter 6 good first half but gave Mcallister far too much space when he replaced woodman Brown 7 well taken goal and back to his reliable self Lockyer 8 both he and McChrystal needed treatment from the physio after being roughhoused. Did well to shake off his knock and deal with Stockley and Watkins McChrystal 8 strong defensive performance from captain sensible, shame he was in the way on the ground when Montano's goal bound drive hit him! Bodin 7 started off like a train, excellent goal and first half, was guilty with Leads of surrendering our right flank to Exeter in the second half although still found the opportunity to prove their keeper is decent for L2 when his shot was turned behind. Lines 8 much happier to break forward and shoot (yes shoot!) with Mansell alongside to cover for him, couple of sloppy balls during Exeter's purple patch but otherwise used the ball well and drove us on. Mansell 8 good to see him back, did the tidying up well in a first half we largely dominated, ghosted in for one headed chance and one volley was too high for him to control the outcome. Needed help as he faded second half but gave his all and had nothing left when he came off. Montano 7 another who started strongly and was well on his game, was not as prominent second half but was still tackling and assured in his defensive duties when sacrificed so the midfield could be bolstered with Ollie, it was a necessary change but I would have been inclined to give Billy Bob the hook rather than CM as they had started bypassing Bodin and he was not getting tackles in. Taylor 7 looked much happier in a 4-4-2 with a wide supply line than in the midweek 3-5-2 hoof fest did a lot of unselfish work dragging the centre halves out of position, they got fed up with that and decked him which led to the second goal. Took his own opportunity assuredly. Gaffney 7 worked his socks off and brought the runners into the game well another one who left it all on the pitch and was running on empty by the end.
O. Clarke 7 change needed to be made and we wrestled back control of the midfield when he was introduced. Easter 7 immediately ran back into our penalty area and made a brilliant tackle coming away with the ball cleanly, was just the right "old head" in the circumstances - good game management Lawrence X was probably on the field for less time than when he picked up that first minute injury at Notts ...would probably have brought him on earlier myself - once I'd seen Manse breakaway from their corner and look like he was running in treacle!
Exeter 8 some nastiness there (Watkins on Lockyer, Troy Brown on Matty T, Stockley on everyone from both sides for a minute or two), also did not like their Taylor feigning an injury as if Lee Brown had elbowed him ...we all know LB is capable of a mistimed tackle (as in the second half!!) but that sort of foul play just isn't in his locker...but that aside they are a good footballing unit with genuine threats and we were never going to have all of this match to ourselves. Apart from his amateur dramatics I'd have to say Taylor was their best player, coming more into the game in their second half revival. Stockley, who was excellent for Pompey at the Mem earlier in the season, held the ball up well in the first half but after his two minute tantrum and booking faded badly out the picture pulling their best chance of equalising wide in the process.
Crowd 9 plenty of singing and backing the blue boys on to the three points Ref 2 made the previous sh*t refs look good. That a decent game of football ensued this afternoon was despite him and his officials ineptness not because of it
Nick Day had another mare! After last week's Ryan Gosling shocker we got treated to the full force " Matteeeeee Taaaaaylooor !!!" scorer announcement......but that was for Billy Bob's goal!!

Mildenhall 7 one or two dodgy kicks but other than that was composed and did everything right Leadbitter 7 started well and his pace is such an asset, in the second half we gave their winger too much space McChrystal 8 MOTM for me, battled well and a real captains performance. I thought in his pre match interviews DC was too emotional about this game, clearly it was a big game but some times telling everyone how big it is can add to the pressure, when he (DC) walked out for the start you could see how pumped he was and early on he was shouting and screaming at his players and at one stage Macca told the bench to calm down! Lockyer 8 another strong battling performance Brown 7 good defending, some good runs and a great free kick. A silly booking, we dont want to pick up too many bookings with key players in case we have 5 games left! Bodin 8 just pipped for MOTM by McCrystal but if I could have shared it I would, a great performance by Billy, a good strike for his goal, lively, creative with both feet but faded for a 20 minute spell in the second half which is why McCrystal just edged it for me Lines 7 experienced performance, calm on the ball, made a few good runs and I remain convinced a Lines/Mansell combo is our best CM pairing. I love Sinclair's attitude but it is no coincidence for me that our form picked up when Sinc's got injured and Lines/Mansell came together. Sinc's fantastic to have in squad/on bench though and would have been a great addition in the second half Mansell 7 great to have him back, unsung hero, doesnt do anything outstanding but grafts, hassles, presses and closes down. His experience is a huge plus in big games like yesterday Montano 5.5 I have been a fan of Monty and been campaigning for him to get more game time but things didnt quite go for him yesterday on the plus side he kept going and is a threat Taylor 6 gets the 6 for the goal, the first time I saw him play 2 years ago in a preseason friendly at Cheltenham I knew he was a player, his scoring record is unquestionable but for me over the last few games his work rate has not been right, he looks a little disengaged. Maybe his mind is elsewhere or maybe he is watered off because Browner and Locks have got their new contracts and he hasnt yet! Gaffney 6.5 hard working performance without creating too much, I felt he should have been changed for Ellis with 20 to go
Easter 7 not on long but quality. Experienced, looks strong, quick and fit, I would like to see more of him. Clarke 7 I have criticised him in recent weeks and rightly so as he has been poor but he was excellent yesterday, he tightened thinks up in midfield and made a real difference as Exeter were in the ascendency and controlling the game before he came on Lawrence Not on long enough to mark
DC 8 got most things right, as mentioned above he has to be careful not to get too excited and let that pass onto his players as pressure but generally top man who seems to be loving life Crowd 7 Ref 3 as bad as I have seen this season with an equally bad linesman in front of us East Terrace
Exeter 7 I really rate Tisdale and how sets his teams up and gets them playing, at times in the second half their movement and passing was a joy and they looked better than a league 2 side. Its easy to see why they have won a lot of away games which makes the victory all the more impressive

Mildenhall 7 Good handling again no chance with the goal.
Leadbitter 7.5 Great energy. McChrystal 7.5 Had his hands full with Jayden Stockley and had to dig deep. Lockyer 7.5 Lionhearted display. Brown 7 Superb free kick and defended well but gave away a silly booking.
Bodin 8 Scored a good goal and gave a very energetic performance. Lines 7.5 Passed the ball well, always looking to the counter attack. Mansell 7 Worked hard and covered loads of ground. Montano 6 Never reached the tempo we know he can get to but a lot better performance than yeovil
Taylor 6 Got well marshaled by the Exeter defence but still managed to score a quality goal. Gaffney 7 Grafted and worked hard to retain possession.
Subs. Easter 6.5 Lively appearance from the bench. Clarke 7 Shored up our midfield when he came on and stopped the domination from Noble and Harley. Lawrence Nole.
DC 8 Crowd 7 Exeter 7 Good footballing side that could beat anyone on their day in lg2. Ref 6

Mildenhall 7 Assured performance
Leadbitter 6.5 Great pace, crosses could be better, never MoM Mccrystal 7 Done well against Exeters big men. Lockyer 7 Got turned for their goal otherwise good as usual Brown 7 Anothr good game, great free kick for his goal
Bodin 7 Good game disappeared a bit when we were under the cosh for 20 minutes otherwise could have been MoM Lines 7 Got stuck in and made a few tackles made some good passes, other times gave the ball away, and actually had a shot. Mansell 7.5 MoM Glad to seem him back does the graft and dirty work Montano 5.5 Again not at his best
Taylor 7 Another excellent goal, tackled back well when we were under pressure, Gaffney 6 Worked hard without much joy
Subs Easter 6.5 Just what we needed to steady things down, actually tackled back as well O Clarke 7 Done the job required done well to stop us being overrun in the middle, changed the game slowly back in our favour. Lawrence
DC 8 Crowd 7 Beginning to get louder for longer periods Exeter 8 In the first half second best but afterwards they certainly showed their credentials and made it an excellent game. Ref 4 Inconsistent not helped by a clown on the west side

Mildenhall 7.5 Mildy gave a strong display,he gives the defence confidence Leadbitter 7 ok but not my m.o.m. Mccrystal 7.5 a sloppy pass that led up to their goal but battled well Lockyer 7 played well but marked down by being turned surprisingly easily for their goal Brown 8 excellent goal and generally good both defending and going forward Bodin 7 started well, tradmark goal, fadad a bit late on Lines 8.5 M.o.M pulled all the strings, he looks twice the player now he's playing further forward Mansell 7 gave everything for the cause Montano 6.5 good, bad and plenty in between Taylor 7 great goal,he was never going to miss, brimming with confidence Gaffney 7.5 a real handful, took all the treatment that the Exeter defence could muster and still came back for more. Subs Easter 7 an important cameo roll, he gives the steadiness when we're seeing the game out O Clarke 7 shored the midfield up well Lawrence not on long enough DC 8 got it right Crowd 7 quiet at times, noisey at times,it looked bigger than last week Exeter 7.5 one of the better sides,'they have a bit of nastiness but looked good when they had the ball. Ref 4 let Exeter try and bully us too much, but better than his assistants, one of whom was consistently wrong with almost every decision

Mildenhall 7 great presence some good stops.
Leadbitter 7 good game from Danny looks to be firing on all cylinders again. Mccrystal 8 MOTM what a shift from the captain. Lockyer 7 got done for the goal but kept Stockley in check. Brown 7 consistent game and fantastic goal.
Bodin 7 good game from Billy scored and looked a threat cutting in. Lines 7 good shift nice passes wanted to be on the ball. Mansell 7 great to have him back looked a little rusty but his presence is vital. Montano 6 not effective game passed him by a little.
Taylor 7.5 back to his best being nasty, scoring and winning free kicks. Gaffney 7.5 Every blade of grass covered fantastic harrying and workrate.
Subs Easter 6 always provides quality O Clarke 7 helped out massively when Exeter got on top. Lawrence 5
DC 8 Crowd 7 Exeter 8 fantastic to watch Ref 4

Thanks to Russ for sorting out the thread this week after I had some technical difficulties.
My own opinions from the game:
Mildenhall 7 Probably couldn't do anything for the goal, but by getting so close it looked disappointing.
Leadbitter 7.5 Final ball let him down, but he probed Exeter all the time and was solid in defence. Lockyer 7 Turned too easily for their goal, but this was a blip for him. McChrystal 7 Solid and organised well. Brown 7 Great free kick, and was largely untroubled in defence
Bodin 8 My MotM, he showed the flair he brings to the team. Others have said he doesn't track back much, but I disagree. A couple of times when Leadbitter had bombed forward I looked back and Bodin was there covering. I don't think anyone would get into a DC team without that. Mansell 7 Ran out of steam about 20 minutes from the end but a good performance otherwise. Lines 7 Picked up the ball and drove at their defence on a couple of occasions. Montano 6 Didn't really get going and was anonymous in the second half, but still set up Bodin.
Taylor 7 I thought he worked hard for the team dropping back to defend and obviously got his goal. Gaffney 6.5 Did well in his hold up play. Fans don't seem to like it when he comes wide to receive the ball, but I feel that running the channels is his natural game.
Subs: O. Clarke 7.5 Really shored up the midfield when he came on at a tense time. We were in danger of conceding again, but another man in midfield to counter Exeter was arguably the key turning point in the game. Easter 6.5 One good tackle and looked bright, but wasn't on that long. Lawrence n/a
Crowd 7.5 Ref 3 He bottled the big decisions every time. I don't think Exeter are a dirty team, but he allowed them to become one. Exeter 7 Played some really good football and showed lots of skill on the ball inbetween the lines of midfield and attack. Maybe they pushed forward a little too much looking for the equaliser and left room for Taylor at the back.

Results in and Billy Bodin is Man of the Match with a score of 7.53.
This was Bodin's first MotM award, coming in his 39th rated game. Only Lee Brown has had to wait longer for this since these threads started. It took Brown until his 69th game (Chesham) to get a MotM.
This is now the 100th Player Rating thread on this forum. During that time there have been 970 ratings from 102 posters. I'm going to have some more stats from the 100 games up in the season thread tomorrow evening.
Mildenhall 6.9
Leadbitter 7.0 Lockyer 7.4 McChrystal 7.4 Brown 7.2
Bodin 7.5 Mansell 7.3 Lines 7.2 Montano 6.3
Taylor 6.7 Gaffney 6.8
Subs: O. Clarke 6.7 Easter 6.6 Lawrence 5.0
Crowd 7.2 Ref 3.7 Exeter 7.4
