if it wasnt for the fact that we have played them in 4 competitive matches last season, would we be hoping that FGR get promoted this season. Being a local non league club i always checked in on their results as they rose through the non league pyramid. For some reason though I now hope that they have reached their ceiling and start heading back down. Does us no favours having another FL team just north of bristol. Why? It's hardly effecting our attendances? Given Vince has plans to spend millions on a new ground I doubt they've reached their ceiling. Why? Well because building a new stadium in what could be seen as our catchment area for new supporters isn't going to help us increase attendances at our own new build.

If there is any justice Grimsby or any of the former league clubs in the mix will come up this year via the playoffs., not the likes of FGR or Eastliegh as no matter how much money is binged at them they will never be proper clubs with proper supporters! I have been saying this till I'm blue in the face. Every time I compare the top 6 proper former league teams' gates with the bottom 6 'Imposter' league teams, the gates are about 30% higher for these "real" league teams. That means that many more fans are being denied football league football. What's the point in that ?

Save York and relegate Stevenage? Boot Bournemouth out of the Prem? The old days have gone. Reputation and history used to mean something but not any more.

If by 'great guy' Mehew, you mean an arrogant, self obsessed, egomaniac tosser, intent on thrusting his narrow views on as many people as possible, then yes, he is.

Can't help feeling there is a conspiracy theory in here somewhere given the ease with which they threw in the towel at this point last year too. We was on fie but they didn't look lie they belonged in playoffs. Bit like that "Rovers board didn't want to go up" theory that did the rounds some years ago. Very odd indeed and surely unlikely to help them get promoted

It's a disgrace Leicester are allowed to be Champions over the better supported clubs like Man C, Man U & Arsenal!!

I don't think you've read my piece correctly. I'm sticking up for the fans. Of course it's great for fans that there's competition at the top too. The 'old' system used to serve purpose via re election which protected fans interests.

I hope they do reach league two...why have Accrington ,Fleetwood,Morecambe etc and not a smaller Gloucestershire side Unless rovers fans are scared of local competition ?...which would be pathetic. The West has been a footballing stagnant pond forever...its about time it got a grip and rose as a region. Newport,Cheltenham, yeovil have been good for local football and rovers attendance's ...whilst also providing easy to reach away days. So good luck FGR ...and its about time bath city and wsm sorted their acts out they are an embarrassing advert for West country football at present.
