Well I'm writing this tonight as an early start tomorrow for what I hope will be my last away game this season (all for the right reasons). Who at the start of the season or even more so after the home defeat to Stevenage would have dreamed that we would be going to York tomorrow with even a chance of automatic promotion. I think even the most confident Gashead would have possibly thought we might be in the race for the Play offs but that would be about it. To have pretty well sown up the Play Offs three games ago this has already been a remarkable season. in fact we are now in a very similar position to that we were in last season at Dover but lets hope the outcome tomorrow is completely different. Of course even if we win tomorrow; if other results don't go our way; we would still be having to rely on other results next weekend. So its a must win game tomorrow and then cross everything that one out of Oxford and Accrington drop some points. When I say must win I honestly think that if we fail to win tomorrow then the automatics are over for us as I just can't see enough slip ups to let us back in and it could well be mathematically impossible !
So the games that matter tomorrow are York v Bristol Rovers (Obviously) Carlisle v Oxford United Wycombe v Accrington Cambridge v Plymouth Hartlepool v Portsmouth
I really hope that DC will start tomorrow with the same team that started against Exeter last week. I really can't see any point in playing against a team that are already relegated with anything like the selection and set up that was played at Stevenage where we set out to contain them. if we set out in a similar vein then IMO we deserve nothing. yes we have to treat them with respect BUT we should be approaching this to attack them from the off and take the game to them. Let them worry about us and if we need to tighten up the midfield like last week then do it as a substitution. I know DC has been very successful with tinkering this season but IMO that is now not needed - Exeter were a very good team and however York play I just cannot see them being anywhere near as good. It will be a hard game but lets get behind them and make it like a Home game. UTG

One point Steve but if we fail to win and Oxford lose then by my calculations nobody needs to slip up next week as it will be in our hands, there lies a slight predicament for DC, as it can't go all out attack chasing the win just in case a draw may be enough.

If we draw and Oxford lose then we'll have about 10 goals worse goal difference than them.

True, got that wrong it's a must win, which probably suits us better anyway. Still think a win tomorrow will take us into the top 3.

Hope your right Topper Gas. The most depressing thing will be to win both games and still be fourth. What I mean about attacking is that too many games we completely waste the first 45 minutes and then end up making 3 subs to try and put matters right. If we play the wing back system that inevitably leads to this situation and IMO against teams that are poor (proven by the League Table) we cannot afford to even give them a chance to get on top. If we play to our potential tomorrow then we will win.

I would much rather win both games and finish fourth then drop points that could have put us in the auto's, if we drop points AND Oxford and accy drop points as well I'll be far more devastated at not making it, let's just win our games and see where it leaves us. Utg!

I for one hope it's us that scores early and not chasing other scores for once!

To the tune of the GRAND OLD DUKE OF YORK OH THE ROVERS WENT TO YORK THEY HAD TWO THOUSAND MEN THEY CAME BACK WITH ALL THREE POINTS AND ARE GOING UP AGAIN Excellent. A lot of people have posted suggested lyrics for new chants on here recently, but this is the first time I've thought that it stands a chance of being heard on the terraces. Short, relevant, scans well and to a tune everyone knows. Maybe you should give the Euros a go!
