We don't want you back Smith.
We wanted you then, you left for a smaller club after you'd left us in the sh**... now they're dumping you. You don't get to stroll back in to the bigger club now we're in a much better position.
Peterborough. What a fkin joke!
f**k off ''Smudge'' you w**ker!

Just to repeat, I don't believe he is transfer listed. Their chairman has said, normally we transfer list players with less than a year on their contracts, but as we don't have a manager atm, we're gonna wait to see if the new manager wants to extend their contracts.

And how would they both be kept happy? How do you know if one/both would be unhappy? All hypothetical of course but I would leave that to the main man. Darrel Clarke done a damn good job this and last season keeping people happy with his tinkering. If he foreseen a problem with any future targets, they wouldn't be signed I would have thought. Ummmm.....because any player with a bit of professional pride wants to play. I'm sure you'd agree we ain't gonna play 'em turn & turn about - one would soon be 1st choice. The other would soon be wanting a transfer. But as you say quite rightly, let's leave it to DC.

Agree, unless we're talking about Panache massage parlour in Clifton. Generous discounts for repeat offenders customers....apparently. happy ending? Only if the wife doesn't find out.

I would be interested. Leadbitter is great. Smudge is good. Let's have all the best RBs I'd happily have leads and Smith as our right backs. DC likes to rotate as all good young managers do these days and it's worked out for us pretty well so far hasn't it ? James Clarke has done a good job but I think he would be better as a back up centre back than a right back.

Even after playing man of match performances then dropped next game!! He is young and still learning, quite well I might add. Far,far from the finished artical as I'm sure you agree. So Signing another right back of quality would be no slight on him what so ever. Knowing the way DC has assembled his squad and the way he uses it,I disagree with you on that one.

Their chairman has said, normally we transfer list players with less than a year on their contracts, but as we don't have a manager atm, we're gonna wait to see if the new manager wants to extend their contracts. It seems he has been transfer listed but could be taken off the list if the new manager wants to keep him, it seems an odd way to run a club, as why not wait until the new manager is in place? As per club policy, those players entering the last year of their contracts will be placed on the transfer list, but, if the new manager wants these players to have an extension to their contracts, then negotiations will take place. I agree leads has probably got more potential but there is the now and there is the then and if Leads lost form next season or got injured then I don't think James Clarke is up to league 1 standard.

Don't think he deserves abuse like that? He was a model pro when he played for us and always gave 110%. He signed a contract with us when it looked like he was leaving so at least we got money for him. He was way too good for conference level and had to leave to better his career and get that international call up. I think you need to move Browns cock out the way of your eyes before saying something as its always about brown not leaving. This thread is about smith!

I really don't think we should be considering bringing in quality, proven players. Especially players that the club / manager were happy to let leave.

I find this an odd thread. How can we seriously begrudge Smith from having moved on when we got relegated? He was far too good for us when we were in league 2. It's unfair to compare him against Brown when it comes to loyalty. They both had reasons for their decisions, but I don't remember anyone turning against him when he left us? We wished him good luck and most of us would have done the same thing as him given his options at that time. Since then he has played pretty much two full seasons with Peterborough as a first choice right back. We know he's up to this level, his attitude and commitment were first class when with us and there has been no major injury since he left, so where are the negatives? The only one for me is that there may be championship clubs who would be interested. If we signed Smith I'm almost certain he'd be first choice right back with Leadbitter in reserve. James Clarke would be a back up centre back. I think it would strengthen the team and the squad. Don't think it will happen, though.....
