Not a bad game so far...FGR keeper makes a great save then follows it up with basic blunders to cost goals. Good goal from marsh brown for FGR. Will FGR become the first village club to ever play in the football league ? Or Will Grimsby finally get that playoff victory ? On Friday FGR had sold about 4000 tickets and Grimsby just over 10,000 Grimsby's PH is certainly a candidate to replace DC should he leave Hurst to replace dc?? Firstly dc is going no where. Secondly Hurst has had numerous chances to get Grimsby promoted and isnt rated at all by their fans. Not the sort of manageroped I would want at rovers Shows how much fans know.....three play off seasons on the trot wasn't it....I can see how fans would be angry at that.....and now a Wembley win and promotion. Nice to see PH hold his hand to his ear as he walked past the fans on the third goal....where are the boos from the playoff first leg now ?. Player interview at the end digs at the fans treatment of team and manager.

Very happy for Grimsby, the rightful team of the 4 to go up, back where they belong at 3rd attempt. That 3rd goal from Arnold gave me a tingle like Igoe. Nice. Fish Exactly what I thought of, It's lovely to score like that at the end, it just sort of confirmed the result and puts the icing on the cake.

Someone just shouted 'Up the Gas' at Disley as he walked up the steps. He seemed to smile.

Had to chuckle at DC mentioning everyone jumps on the bandwagon after one defeat and thinks they can manage better .....

Also if you can't see the difference between a proper footballing club with history and a plastic club backed with a big money man then I dont know what to say. So as a fan of a club with the former I can relate to them today whilst enjoying the game. What I dont understand is why you are so clearly upset by people enjoying the playoffs and having a preferred side? Dont you watch any other football at all?

So these plastic clubs as you put it shouldn't exist because they have a rich chairman and clubs with football league history have a Devine right to? I find that very strange personally but I'm a down to earth person with no bitterness or envy towards most people. As for being upset, you have that totally wrong! I was just answering to Mr GGMI!

Noone has a divine right to anything but I bet if you asked 100 neutral fans who they would want to win out of Grimsby and forest green they would tend towards Grimsby and I bet for the same reasons as I have said. I have no bitterness or envy at all so I dont know why you said that.

It may have been an even playing field donkeys years ago but times have certainly changed! I doubt if they would turn down a rich backer as there old fashioned values won't let them!

UP THE f**king MARINERS!!! Seriously, I couldn't give a f**k. First Accrington now Grimsby! f**king weird in my book. Up the f**king Rovers. Accrington?! I actually wanted Wimbledon to beat Accrington. As for Grimsby, I feel we can relate to them a lot better than FGR. Can you imagine if we lost last season then lost 2 more of those finals in the next 4 seasons before eventually winning 1?! That must have really hurt for a club the size of Grimsby and for last year's to be via a cruel penatly shootout defeat, they could have been forgiven for wondering if they will ever get out of that god damn league. Yet they stayed dignified in defeat, their fans were class on the day and have been when I have seen them on tv since in away matches. And for those reasons, I am proud to be called a Mariner for the day! UTM!

I watched it and was really pleased for the long suffering Grimsby fans. Looked like a few less there than last year but still a good turnout, and all in fine voice. FISH!
What a difference though between Hurst and DC at the end. Our boss went nuts, theirs looked like he'd just found 5p on the pavement. Still, he and they did it, and well done them.

Yeah and the little dig at the "fans" afterwards was unprofessional and unneccessary in my opinion. I know it's easy for me to say and I don't doubt I would have been frustrated too in his shoes but some things are better not said at all. He could have least been a bit more toned down as he has just isolated himself from quite a few Grimsby supporters.

Completely agree GGMI, I felt exactly the same thing when he said those words, just seemed a bit cringeworthy, and I wonder if he'll regret that later on. He didn't seem very happy at all during the interview, maybe the pressure of this season and the negativity of some of their fans towards him when their form dipped has taken it's toll on him. Still, congrats to him and the Grimsby players for a job well done, and their fans can rejoice that he's finally got them over the line.
