Fully support the England team, but get a feeling that the FA are clueless, a bunch of well off old timers with their heads up their arses, who think they're the reason there's money in the game. You've just got this now! The FA are London centric with the premiership as their cash cow. They delayed Burton 10 years because they wanted to move it to London. They should have built the national stadium in the Midlands when they demolished Wembley.I have no time for those imbeciles. absolutely true. One thing I didn't know about the England players is that for the last 9 years, they have all given therir England wages to charity, always a children charity and have so far donated over £4,000,000.

I have read on the interweb on a few sites that England players get £2,500 per appearance, but they are offered big bonuses by the FA. For Euro 2012 it was £100,000 each if they won the tournament and £650,000 if they won the 2014 World Cup. I don't know if that's true, but I suppose the FA felt their money was fairly safe.

I think in a large part we are the only home nation not allowed an identity, if we fly a St Georges cross we are told we are jingoistic little Englanders and at worst racist right wingers, the Scottish flag is hailed as showing your love of your country and are encouraged to put on the old ABE T thirt, the Welsh all think they can sing and wave leeks and daffodils at any one they fancy, they are called lovers of the country, the Irish, stick a silly big green hat on and we are all supposed to love them because they are such fun. We will never be as fond of our team as we used to be because to be honest so many people in this country don't want to offend the rest of the World. In a nutshell we will never feel the same about our team as we are conditioned not to. Really good points raised there, especially about social conditioning. I always use the "Other" box on those ethnicity forms and write English next to it. Same here the amount of customers signing in books that were like that is untrue, even worse were the amount of customers who used to say no your not english your british as english isnt an option, used to make me bleed purple waters that did. But a lot of official forms now have english as a tick box, not sure whether it was people power or dare i say i remember golden brown saying he wanted to see more flags everywhere
