Sasha Johnson, one of the BLM Leaders in the UK, had some quite interesting things to say in speeches and on Twitter (before she was banned). Doesn’t seem that interested in promoting ‘full equality’. Does Sasha Johnson speak for the movement? I hadn't heard of her until you replied to my post. From looking her up I'd say probably not. I presume she does (or did) as a very prominent member of their ‘LeadershipTeam’? I only came across her when there was a news report of her being chucked off Twitter for her extremist views, for example calling a fellow BAME person a c**n simply because he didn’t share her views on racism and something along the lines of ‘white people wont be our equal, they will be our slaves’. Given how BLM has developed and looks more likely to cause division than cohesion going forward large organisations, sports bodies and clubs should probably distance themselves from them and instead keep reiterating their own equalities messages. I think sports should continue to try and remain apolitical and prevent their participants presenting slogans and messages in that particular arena. If the players want to use their own profile and personal social media to promote whatever agendas then they should be free to do so. Likewise, anyone who does not wish to support a particular agenda or movement should not feel obliged to ‘Be seen to take part’ for fear of being called out and publicly scapegoated.
