If MT had an irresistible offer on the table, that he was certain was best for him financially and for his career he would already be gone, like Parkes. He hasn't gone, so it must be that our offer is at least competitive , so we must be in with a chance. Nothing else makes sense. This is the most confusing aspect of it for me, why hasn't he gone already? Stinks to me of his agent 'holding out' for the best offer - which could backfire, how many Championship clubs are going to wait around? Still expecting him to go, but the wait has been bizarre.

...and lets be bleedin frank, the lads need someone to bring all the soddin cheap duty free home a few times a year. Could I just say that your duty free allowance is a personal allowance. It is not permissible to sell the goods to other people. Giving them as gifts, occasionally, is permissible. Evasion of excise duty is an offence under the Customs & Excise management Act 1979 and is punishable by up to 14 years imprisonment. Also, the duty becomes payable at the time of the offence and may be recovered by way of an assessment. Just saying... By that do you mean it is permissible to give goods as gifts on occasion (i.e not with any regularity) or is it that occasionally it is found that the giving of gifts was permissible under certain circumstances?

I think gosling may surprise a few people next season, still think he has lots to offer and will only get better! Footballing wise I don't think he is any better, however I understand he is quite a good model. In fact so good Airfix want to buy him Very pretty young man indeed

Occasionally you may give the goods as gifts. There's a basic rule. No payment and don't be seen to take the p*ss

Why are you so convinced that he will leave? I haven't seen any evidence that he is off. No team has been consistently linked with him. It's 50/50 imo. He is available on a free, top scorer in all the English leagues last season. A no brainer for a championship team to gamble on him! Doubt we can match half of what a championship team will offer him. I don't need any evidence. Just reading between the lines. I don't expect us to match a championship team either by the way. Say a championship team offers him £8000 a week then we shouldn't go all out to match that when the rest of our players are on so much less. If you think he's staying then you're letting your heart overrule your head!!! Why's it a "no brainer", you sense Rovers have already offered him £5K p.w. over 2 or 3 years, so a Championship club has to take a gamble of £500K or £750K on a player who's had one good season in league football.

Gaschat takes an unprecedented swerve into tax law. Technically it's a duty payable at importation, not tax. A duty defined as payable on an item upon which it has been levied by virtue of finance act.

Gonna be a few 'so what' replies to this but I hope Gosling knuckles down next season. This is a chance for him. Do get a bit tired of him in the pre-match warm ups not seeming to take it seriously, messing about. Time for him to be professional now.

It really isn't that much of a gamble at that level. I can see him replacing Will Grigg at Wigan.

Would like to see him played through the middle more like a number 10. Whenever he's played out wide he always seems to want to cut inside and it slows the move down. I think he's got something to offer.

If he's such a good deal why aren't they Championship sides lining up to sign him? The only talk is Wigan might be interested but if was MT I'd sooner stay at Rovers.

If you think he will stay then you'll letting your heart overrule your head.
