News each day of players signing new contracts, or leaving, or new signings. Even on Saturday and Sunday. Someone behind the scenes has chosen to do it this way, and personally I am loving it. Keep checking twitter on the hour but today they did me with a half past the hour announcement.
4 more to announce, plus some signings maybe and we will be through June and then pre season and friendlies. Plus fixtures on Wed.

Just been down the Mem - lots of white painting. Plus , something defo happening in the old tractor storage area. Several fancy 4x4s in the main carpark with a few agents milling around with dudes in designer jeans and shades.

Agreed, think we will have 1 each day for the rest of this week, hopefully culminating with Matty T on friday, although I don't honestly think he'll stay.

Not sure keeping Puddy, Montano, Gosling, Clark, Easter & Lawrence to the end is that clever to be honest? Plus it's fairly obvious Lines will sign.

It was a strategy DC used to get us promoted. And it worked.
In any case, it's my view that anyone contributing significantly to a promotion needs to be given a chance at the new level otherwise, aside from the fairness argument, you implicitly demotivate your teams.
Who wants a player thinking, I really like playing for this team, and we've got a shout for the playoffs, but if we go up I reckon the gaffer won't want me.

Understand what you are saying and it's all about opinions but why? If he didn't keep these players then he would have to sign others who he may not be sure about, who may not be the right characters and who might be disruptive to the squad. Whatever, I bet he discussed it with Marcus and Steve Y and with a few senior pros. This is a squad game and we have seen how DC does it, he gathers together players he trusts and improves them. He got stick in the past for signing players with the Salisbury/Hartlepool connection but in the end he has been vindicated by results, the only thing that matters in football. Last close season has been very similar to this, signing on and keeping the majority of the squad and making 3/4 signings who go straight into the team. That way he improves the team and squad and builds a very strong team ethos. This ethos, incidentally, kept us going against Northampton and D/R right until the end and sent us up. So whilst I appreciate what you say, I think DC is right and am sure we will need the squad ethos when we have a bad run, which we will have. In DC I trust. UTG!

As long as there is plenty of the budget left for new signings, no harm in giving them new deals. Need more players now anyway, due to the loan system changes. Doubt we offered then mega deals to stay, so if they accepted terms that are beneficial to us and are willing to fight for a place, then so be it.

If you were releasing them in order to save the best until last you'd put Ollie Clarke, Gosling and Puddy after DC, Leads and Bodin? I'm happy we have retained all the squad by the way That said, some players look to my untrained eye more likely to cut it in L1 and others you have to hope will take their well deserved opportunities.

What's negative about saying I wouldn't have left the likes of Gosling until last, I doubt even he thinks he's one of our better players, Rovers seem to be just dragging it out now in my view seeing as it seems likely most player will stay for next season. Perhaps they'll surprise us and announce two signings tomorrow!

The thread assumes we are being drip fed? It would be a bit weird if 9 players resigned on the same day!

A bit of a shocker if they did all resign rather than re-sign! Seems odd they are signing day after day unless they just have the meetings set up that way with the FD.

The thread assumes we are being drip fed? It would be a bit weird if 9 players resigned on the same day! It would also be weird if 10 different players signed their contracts on 10 consecutive days - perhaps there is a ceremony and rituals being performed - arms being slashed and the player's blood being collected a sacred goblet ready for DC to drink on his return.
