Good problem to have but 5 strikers plus young Jamie Lucas are going to be hard to keep happy this season. Some of them are going to spend a lot of time on bench or out of the squad.

Only turns into a problem if they're all on top form. Taylor and Gaffney will be the front two IMO. Probably see Ellis and Lucas out on loan with a option to recall them leaving Easter for experience and young Luke James trying to force their way in.

Big thing is that if MT continues in his rich vein of scoring mode,he will be on his way but we get a big fee.Win Win situation.New kit announced soon, hoping the UWE details will be finalised before the new season and hopefully a few more signings.Excited muchly. Was it really only a couple of years ago we were playing part timers like Braintree and Nuneaton? My two ambitions of watching a match in a new stadium and being higher than the other Bristol team might actually happen in my life time.70 now and fully recovered from the desolation of losing our league status. Not sure what Bolton ,Sheff Utd and Charlton fans will make of the visitors facilities at the Mem but what a journey we are now on . (P.S. Still don't ever go into Sainsburys at Stafford).

Tbh, I'd still like a PROVEN L1+ striker to come in. I agree we should definitely look at getting someone in but I think we should prioritise getting a GK and CM in first as those are the areas where we lack in quality and there is no short term loans.

(P.S. Still don't ever go into Sainsburys at Stafford). Yes, agree completely fans of our vintage really thought it was the end after going out of the league. We might have been playing part-timers but I really enjoyed going round the country to places we shouldn't have been visiting. I never thought I would see us in the league again and started to just enjoy us having a few wins and enjoying players giving their all for the shirt, having not seen that for years! I know what you mean about playing in a new stadium and being above the other lot but TBH the stadium would be great and I know I would get emotional about it if it came but it's not more important than the team winning again, having pride that we are back and everyone knows we are! The number of people who know I'm a Rovers fan down here in Dorset and come up and say how pleased they are that we're doing so well is amazing. Would be good to be above them but again after 50 odd years I refuse to be worried about them or allow them to spoil my enjoyment of Rovers. I've said before I'm sure the rivalry is more important for those who live in Bristol and for them, I agree with you. I don't allow them to register with me. So all in all Happy Days and at my age I intend to enjoy the ride whatever!

why do people think we need a striker with league 1 experience....
we haven't got a manager, a board, a chairman with league 1 experience....
lets mix it up boys, because it's fresh....

Because the club won't go anywhere without goals (other than down to league 2). So it would be nice to have a proven striker at this level.

I think we can safely leave the running of our special club in the capable hands of DC. The man's a genius, and the board ought to sign him to a 10 year contract.
I'm sure the reason he signed for 3 years is because he's been assured the new stadium and training facility will happen, and soon, and that he has the opportunity to build something special.

Didn't we score 75+ goals last season? How many of those goals came from players with recent League Two experience?
No idea why people are so scared of League One that we suddenly need superstars. We've are where we are on merit, just relax.

Might be better than players living on past glories & worried about their reputation.

Probably see Ellis and Lucas out on loan with a option to recall them leaving Easter for experience and young Luke James trying to force their way in. Surely it's down to Harrsion to prove he's good enough to be part of the 1st team squad in pre-season, if not, wouldn't he have just been better off moving on this summer.

I love the way a thread titled 'problem' has turned into an entirely positive thing....

Yeah, obviously that's just my opinion but I have faith in whatever DC decides to do. If you loan him out though if he's not going to be playing then at-least he'll be getting first team football and we'll have the option to recall if needed.

There will not be an option to recall anyone on short notice. That is no longer possible. That's why clubs need bigger squads to cover injuries etc.
