My Corsa is dead.
Anyone recommend a decent, trusted car dealer they've used?
Cheers.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to fix the corsa, sometimes the word dead when applied to cars can be a simple mornings work

It uses about 2 litres of oil a week. One of the spark plugs is constantly oily and eventually burns out. I suspect a ring or a valve is on the way out. The coolant now seems to have gone murky so wouldnt be surprised if the head is also gone or going.
On top of that, the engine management computer is also shot and has an intermittent fault causing to loose power and revs. I've had it diagnosed at a trusted garage. The EMC is a separate issue and is not due to the above problems.
Oh, and the heater doesn't work.

Oh, and I only paid 900 quid for it so it's hardly worth the cost of repair.

Farewell then to the Corsa She's knackered and Hugo can't force her She was cheap but sublime But she's now had her time If only he could afford a Porsche.

The Corsa is no more, it has ceased to be, bereft of life, it rests in peace, this is an ex-Corsa.
(Thanks to Monty Python).

It's time to man up Hugo. It's a Merc you need. For your family needs I'd recommend a second-hand A-Class. Loads of room, pretty cheap, but still a Merc.

Look, I found this in about 30 seconds ! 500 quid ! link

C'mon Bags, we've got to help Hugo get his self-respect back. It can't be easy being a Corsa driver. A babe-magnet, boy-racer Focus, with go-faster stripe and a 'filter' may good for a lothario like yourself, but it's no good as a family car.
We have an A-Class. It's used mainly by She Who Casts No Shadow and her Mother. It's a nice drive, with loads of room both in the boot compartment, and sitting inside. It's a bit of a Tardis, in that the car looks small but the amount of room inside is quite surprising.

It's going to take a lot more than a Mercedes to get it back.

I've already got one broken jalopy! That one example is maybe a bad one (I didn't see that about the gearbox), but there are loads on there, for between 500 and 1000 quid. Look, 995 quid. Full years MOT. link
