I can't believe a couple of posters think we need a striker?! We have Taylor, Gaffney, James, Ellis, Easter, Lucas. Broom and Bodin could potentially do a job there. If there is one position we don't need, it i a striker IMO. Agreed. We probably need a centre back to cover early on as Lockyer and Hartley might be back for Scunthorpe but won't have had a pre season so I'd make that priority and I'd look to get puddy out in a season long Loan and bring in a really good keeper to challenge Mildy. Other than that I'm pretty happy we'll be OK.

If there is one position we don't need, it i a striker IMO. Although we have quite a few players who can play up front it doesn't necessarily mean they'll score enough goals. Only Taylor has a decent goals to games ratio and he's unproven in L1. How many goals did Harrison score from open play last season? 3 or 4? How many goals did Easter score? 5 or 6? How many goals did Gaffney score? 7 or 8? 5 of those were during his hot spell on loan in December. Lucas has never scored for Rovers and managed just 7 goals during his 7 months at Boreham Wood. James has scored just 3 goals in his last 67 appearances. Bodin is excellent on the wing but looks less effective when played up top so he's not the answer. Hopfully one of those guys will come good but their stats would suggest we're going to be relying heavily on MT again. I don't think we'll sign a striker this summer but it may be something we need to do in January.

We've added a forward who I think will do quite well despite everyone reading his Wikipedia page. I think we'll be fine on the goalscoring front.

We need another striker who will bang them in, and as we all know they a few & far between.

Surely you don't expect another steiker of Taylor's quality as backup? All ifs and buts anyway though regarding injuries. I have a good feeling about James, he was decent in league 2 and you aren't worth nearly a £1mil for nothing, took his goal well. Easter can do a job up front, Ellis is hit and miss but still a decent backup. Lucas and Broom are unknowns but Lucas seems to be steadily improving out on loan. Bodin scored what was it 13 goals last season? Albeit from the winger and improved bucket loads last season.

Why was it such a poor turn out, what is their average gate?

Didn't Dave Clarkson sign for similar money for the 82er's, and we also paid big money for Micky Evans & Justin Richards in the past. James has impressed me with his work rate so far but doesn't seem to be a goal threat like Taylor, but I can see him being used as back up for MT, or played out wide. The CF position concerns me as Harrison has shown nothing in preseason to suggest he's improved, and last season DC bought in Fallon & McBurnie has cover. Hopefully he'll bring somebody before the transfer window closes, preferably next week.

Why was it such a poor turn out, what is their average gate? I spoke to a guy out there who said before the match a lot of their fans are working away or on their holidays this time of year. Think they average around 3000, but can't remember. Great guys though!

So I'm guessing about 3-4000 usually attend at the level they play at. Not massive and it's not like they got any successful teams locally to compete with for fans..... Nice little stadium though , stick a roof on it and it would be quite nice at the mem site.

... it's not like they got any successful teams locally to compete with for fans..... Yeah, for all their money, new facilities, and delusions of grandeur, makes me very thankful we only have those arch-incompetents as our rivals.

Given they play around our level I'd have a thought 3,000-4,000 is a decent turn out given lower league English football is generally well supported, although I was surprised how so few Sabadell fans turned up for our game, probably just a couple of hundred and somebody told me they were given free entry if they had a season ticket! Although the one's who did gave us a brilliant reception.
